Our typical Tuesday night consists of watching reality television with our best girlfriends and enjoying a bottle of wine and/or brownies and/or pizza and/or all of the above. This week, we discovered our newest guilty pleasure: Bravo’s latest creation, The Singles Project. Grab a glass and let the chardo-no-she-didn’t begin!
It’s hard to describe the empathetic joy we get from watching successful, professional, working women (and men) on their televised journeys to find love in New York City. It may be worth noting that many of us here at Benefit are also on this journey, only with 100% less cameras following us around.
As we watched it together last week, we realized that it’s important to have your wing woman at your side as you navigate the wild world of dating. Here are some other things we’re learning from live-tweeting the episode. Internet, you are our dating coach.
What to do if you’re bored on a date:
Dating fashion pro-tips:
How to be humble & patient for the right one:
How to tell if the guy you’re seeing is nervous:
How to set high standards for those we date:
Tune-in to the The Singles Project every Tuesday @ 10/9c only on BRAVO, and a special episode on August 26 (hint: it’s made pretty by yours truly!)—where we’ll be live-tweeting all the romance & ridiculousness. And to all our single sisters: good luck out there!
I don’t need any convincing that This Works is onto something here with their Pillow Spray +. I can see from what I’ve been sent that this has undergone some pretty rigorous clinical trials with 200 subjects and the most interesting thing is that the placebo group were given a synthetic lavender spray which was significantly poorer in the results. However, the results from the placebo group aren’t shown and I’m certain that there is always an element of mind over matter in these things – if you think a thing will work, then it has a better chance of doing so than if you are sceptical.
Nonetheless, I know that the original This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray does work – I’ve used it (in fact, my whole family has) for transitory ‘can’t sleep’ phases and my YouTube partner for unisex beauty vids, Simon, swears by it. We’re not easy people to please.
So, what’s the difference between the original and This Works Sleep & Pillow Spray +? The new version uses microencapsulation technology (basically, where tiny droplets are encapsulated in a film sphere) so when you move around during restless periods, the fragrance is released and the theory is that the boost of aromatherapy ingredients when you’re starting to wake when you shouldn’t will lull you back to sleep again.
This Works Sleep & Pillow Spray + uses the same base of Lavender, Vetivert and Wild Chamomile as the Sleep range as a whole but in the Sleep + version, it’s a higher concentration in a slow release form. Probably worth every single penny of the £25 cost if you struggle to sleep.
I’ve heard countless ghost stories when I was young but the creepy doll story freaks me out the most. I Continue reading

I bought these last week. Seven quid. I don’t really know what else to say about them other than…GET THEM, THEY ARE AMAZING, IT DOESN’T EVEN REALLY MATTER IF YOU LOSE THEM OR SIT ON THEM OR IF THE DOG EATS THE LENSES WHEN YOU’RE NOT LOOKING BECAUSE THEY ARE SEVEN QUID.
I think that they look supremely stylish, if a little on the batty side, and I love the “coffee and cream” colours. I’m ordering another pair for when I lose my first. Which will happen, at some point. But I can guarantee that it won’t be as painful as when I left my brand new Dior sunglasses in a hire car glovebox. That was a sad day.
