Lookfantastic July #LFBeautyBox

Lookfantastic July #LFBeautyBox

The Lookfantastic #LFBeautyBox for June was a massive hit, so I was intrigued to see if they could top the contents with their July box. If you’re new to the Lookfantastic beauty box, they release a new box every month but there’s no subscription involved like other beauty boxes.. you simply purchases boxes as and when you wish to, so you could choose to wait until the spoiler posts circulate on the blogs to make sure you like the products within the box each month. The Lookfantastic #LFBeautyBox costs £15 per box…

Lookfantastic July #LFBeautyBox

First up is a 30ml sample of the MONU Firming Fiji Facial Treatment (worth £7.80), which is a soothing facial oil which was formulated to smooth and comfort the skin whilst preventing dehydration. It contains apricot seed, hazel seed and rosewood oils and has quite a strong herbal scent which isn’t to my taste but you can’t beat a lovely facial oil when your skin is feeling a little parched.

The next item in the Lookfantastic July #LFBeautyBox is a 10ml sample of the Trilogy Everything Balm (worth £2.15), which is a multi-tasking balm that can be used on the lips, nails, heels, knees or any other dry areas. It contains marula oil, rosehip oil, jojoba, olive, avocado, honey and vitamin E to nourish and soothe the skin, and it has a subtle herbal scent. Balms like these are always useful, and this little pot will be going into my handbag as it’s so compact.

Next up we have a 50ml tube of the Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash (worth £6.40) which is described as a luxurious, wash-off face cleanser which gently removes makeup and impurities to prevent spots and skin congestion. The wash contains balancing grapefruit and petit grain, with soothing frankincense essential oils and calming spruce knot extract. I have tried this face wash previously, as I got it free in a magazine and to be completely honest, I found it to be quite drying for my skin so I’ll pass this on to someone without dry skin, as it would be a shame to waste it.

Lookfantastic July #LFBeautyBox

Then we have a mini 7ml sample of the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil (worth £1.96) which is a product I already own and love. It’s the most stunningly scented oil which can be used on the face, body and hair. It contains an impressive 30% of precious plant oils including borage, sweet almond, hazelnut, St John’s Wort, camellia and macadamia and it does an amazing job at softening and smoothing the skin, and the scent lingers for quite a long time too. I really like using the oil to tame any flyaways as it’s quite light, and it adds so much shine to my hair.

Lookfantastic July #LFBeautyBox

Next up is a 50ml tube of the Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo (worth £2.79), which is from a brand I’ve never come across before. This is a deed cleansing and rejuvenating shampoo which detoxifies the scalp and should be used once a month. This shampoo is the item I’m most excited about from the box as I’ve been on the hunt for a decent clarifying shampoo, so fingers crossed this will be my new favourite.

Lookfantastic July #LFBeautyBox

Lastly we have a tiny Lord & Berry Ultimate Lip Liner in Nude (worth £2), which is a chocolate brown sort of shade which isn’t something I’d wear personally, but I can vouch for the Lord & Berry Lip Liners as they’re incredibly creamy and comfortable on the lips, and they last for such a long time too but I own Bare and Vintage Rose which are more suited to my pale skintone.. this shade would be better suited for medium to dark skintones as a nude liner.

So they are all of the items in the Lookfantastic July #LFBeautyBox.. collectively, the products are worth £23.10 which isn’t the best value we’ve seen compared to previous boxes, but if you like skincare, I think you’d like this box. I would love to see Lookfantastic introduce more makeup into their boxes, and perhaps not include Balance Me nearly every month as it does get a little repetitive.

Botox for hair? Yep, you read right: Botox Bliss and ALL-NATURAL! Evelyn & her fave flower! It’s no secret that my favorite flower is the orchid: stunning, delicate yet resilient. Defending Eyes from Unfriendly Skies!

Let’s get real here: we moisturize & exfoliate, cleanse & prime—but we still can’t always seem to protect our skin the way that we want to. Specifically, our eyelids. They’re small, but oh, so delicate, and we’re planning on using them to protect our eyes for years to come. So, like any Benebabe would, we came up with a fabulous solution for eyelid defense! Enter, air patrol—our brand new BB eyelid primer with SPF 20!

Our eyelids go through a lot of abuse every day: between smoke (& smoky eyes), smog & sun, there’s a lot going on in the life of an eyelid! Air patrol protects your eyes against environmental stress with EnviroDefend Complex, which combines shea extract, silktree extract & licorice root for a fabulous formula to protect, defend & soothe. As always with Benefit, it’s also all about the tip. Air patrol has a cushion calm tip inspired by gel foam found in mattresses & pillows for stress free, pressure free application that’s softer than your pinkie!

We know your next question—air patrol will protect your lids, yeah, but will it also keep your shadow from creasing? Of COURSE, gorgeous! Have we ever let you down!? Air patrol works flawlessly on its own for color-correction & a gorgeous no-makeup makeup look, or under shadow for crease-free perfection that lasts all day! To apply air patrol, just click once & massage into the eyelid, using the cushion calm tip to blend evenly. Pro-tip: give air patrol a few seconds to dry, and once it gets tacky, blend into the area around the eyelid for a seamless look.

So what do you think, gorgeous—are you ready to protect those peepers with some serious eyelid defense!? Air patrol is landing in stores September 1st!

SMACKDOWN: DiorSkin vs. Sephora Spray Foundation

Sephora_DiorSkin Spray Foundation WP Banner

Hi Makeup Geeks!

It’s been a little bit since I did a product smackdown (yes, I’ve been slacking this summer 😉 )  If you’re new and haven’t seen any of my previous product smackdowns before, it’s where I do a comparison of two exact same products: one high end and one cheaper version. I compare all the qualities both good and bad, and pick a winner.   This way you can save some money if the cheaper version is better!  (more money to buy some more shoes- oh yeah!)

DiorSkin Spray Foundation

 DiorSkin Airflash Foundation

I have been using this aerosol foundation for over a year now and absolutely love it!  What I don’t love is the price.  At over $60 a pop, I could be getting a mani/pedi or a pair of cute shoes or something.  BUT, I won’t be mad at Dior for this high price as it still is a wonderful product.

I don’t use it but a few times a month- usually when I’m in a hurry as it’s very quick to get that flawless finish.  Just spray and go!  If you’d like to

  • Quick and easy to use
  • Great coverage- is buildable.  The more you spray on, the more coverage you get
  • Finish is flawless.  It doesn’t look cakey or heavy and it has an almost airbrushed look
  • Comes in 10 colors

  • Too expensive
Price:  $62
Where to Buy:    Sephora .  Amazon

Sephora Spray Foundation

Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation

Awhile back, Sephora had another aerosol foundation that sucked.  Yep, it sucked REALLY bad.  Came out in a messy blob, smelled funny, didn’t cover your skin at all.  Was horrible!   So I wasn’t so excited to try this one out, but decided to give it another shot anyways.  I have to say that this isn’t like the old one at all- I’m really impressed!  Nice save Sephora 😉

This newest air foundation works just like the DiorSkin one.  It’s fairly pigmented, covers well, and doesn’t blob all over the place. You can’t beat the price difference between this and the Dior either. The Sephora one is $26 vs the $62 (ouch!) for the Dior.  The only disadvantage is the small range of colors- just 5.

I’ve used this 4 times now and it’s never not sprayed correctly, and it dries to a nice satin finish.  If you want fuller coverage, just spray another coat.

SO… the winner for this smackdown goes to….. SEPHORA!!!

  • Much cheaper than Dior
  • Gives an airbrush finish to the skin
  • Covers well and leaves a satin finish to the skin
  • Quick and easy to use- perfect for on the go!

  • Not enough colors
  • Smells a little
Price:  $26
Where to Buy:    Sephora
