Summery Pink Lips

Summery Pink LipsSummery Pink Lips

When it comes to lip products, I’m not particularly adventurous colour wise, and I tend to stick to pinks and corals especially in the Summer. Today I wanted to share my ‘Summery Pink Lips’; my five current favourite pink lip products for Summer, and the reasons why each product has made my top five. Generally speaking, I find myself avoiding lipsticks in the Summer as they’re not ideal for carrying around in my handbag as they melt so I usually gravitate towards glosses or lip tints.

Maybelline Color Sensational Elixir Lipgloss in Petal Plush £6.99 – I love the whole range of Color Sensational Elixirs, but Petal Plush is my most worn shade as it’s such a wearable colour, and I apply it on the go without needing a mirror and risking looking like a clown. These glosses are lightweight, non-sticky and comfortable to wear and the applicator is really nice too which makes application easy and fuss-free.

Neve Cosmetics Yumtint Color Enhancing Lip Balm €7.50/£5.42 – This lipbalm contains argan oil and grapeseed oil to nourish the lips, and it has a subtle strawberry pink tint which is perfect for the days when I don’t want to keep topping up my lipgloss or lipstick throughout the day. This balm also has a subtle berry scent and flavour, and is suitable for vegetarians.

W7 Butter Kiss Lipstick in Candy Floss £1.49 – The W7 Butter Kiss Lipsticks are a dupe for the NYX Butter Lipsticks which I also love, but these are a great budget alternative, and if it does melt in the heat, it’s not a big loss. This particular shade is a pale pink, so I like to wear it quite sheerly. I think the Butter Kiss Lipsticks are amazing value for £1.49, although they don’t smell as good as the NYX Butter Lipsticks.

NYX Butter Gloss in Vanilla Creme Pie £6.50 – The NYX Butter Glosses are my absolute favourite lipglosses; they all smell divine, and they’re not sticky or gloopy in the slightest. Vanilla Creme Pie is the prettiest bright pink that can be worn sheerly, or built up for a more intense colour. This is my most worn product from the five, and is my everyday lip product of choice.

2True 8Hr Power Lip Colour in Uma £4.99 – This is a longlasting lip gloss which claims to give 8 hours of wear, which I have to disagree with as I get around three at the most with this shade, but I imagine that the bolder shades have greater longevity than this one. This shade isn’t something I’d normally go for, as it’s a metallic rose shade but when worn sheerly on the lips, it doesn’t look as metallic as it does in this swatch and is really pretty.

So they are my current top five favourite summery pink lips.. I might do a post on my five favourite corals in the coming weeks, but my favourites are constantly changing as I’m rather fickle when it comes to makeup. I’d love to know what your favourite lip products for Summer are?

Giveaway: Christophe Robin Luxury Regenerating Haircare

Christophe Robin Regenerating Haircare

I’m starting the new week with an incredibly decadent giveaway for you. Do you remember my summer love affair with the Christophe Robin volumising haircare à la rose? Beautiful, bouncifying shampoo and conditioner with the most delicate rose scent? (If you don’t remember then you can remind yourselves here.) Well. There’s something even newer from hair colourist extraordinaire Christophe  – the Regenerating Collection – and I have five whole sets of it to give away!

Christophe Robin Regenerating Haircare

Christophe Robin’s Regenerating Collection has, at its core, the Regnerating Mask with Rare Prickly Pear Seed Oil; a highly concentrated deep conditioning mask that helps to repair and strengthen damaged hair. A bit of a Google on Prickly Pear Seed Oil throws up the fact that it has a record concentration of essential fatty acids and vitamin E – twice as much as argan oil! Bring it on.

I tried this mask in the summer and it was incredibly powerful – I rather overdid it, I think, because you only need the tiniest amount. It’s a total hair treatment – you massage in from roots right down to the tips so that the scalp is stimulated as well as the lengths being cared for. But the result is stronger, healthier-feeling hair – it’s the perfect kind of mask to use when you’re having a long beauty session in the bath. I collect disposable shower caps from hotels for precisely this type of event; I squeeze all the water from my freshly-washed hair, apply a mask and wind my hair up on to the top of my head before putting on the cap. It stops my hair from going into the water when I relax back into the bath.

Christophe Robin Regenerating Haircare

Where was I? The Regenerating Collection. There’s now a rich, creamy shampoo (again, enriched with prickly pear oil) and a multi-use, intense repair balm. The repair balm is brilliant for dry ends, especially if you have your hair coloured on a regular basis and have ends like straw. Just a tiny amount melted between fingertips can be used to add a bit of definition, too – kind of like a styling wax, but massively conditioning at the same time. It’s non-sticky and can also be used on lips as a salve, on dry skin anywhere on the face or body and as a soothing balm post-shave.

Christophe Robin Regenerating Haircare

I have five sets of this gorgeous Regenerating Collection to give away, each comprising a shampoo (worth £30) a mask (worth £51) and a balm (worth £29). The total value of each set is a massive £110 so this is truly the haircare routine of dreams. If your hair is in need of some intensive care then this is the ultimate prize…

To be in with the chance of winning, leave a comment below, making sure that you enter your email address into the form where prompted. (This won’t be visible to anyone else.) If you’re feeling generous then you can share this post, tweet about it or subscribe to my newsletter, but it’s not obligatory.

I’m just trying my luck. Ha.

One entry per person, this is open worldwide and the giveaway closes at noon on Friday (29th January 2016). Winners will be picked at random on Friday and announced in the Sunday Tittle Tattle. Good luck everyone! If you’d like to take a look at the full range from Christophe Robin, it’s on LookFantastic here. My love affair with the rose range is still very much alive – I’m almost through the second lot.

Rouge Dior Baume

Rouge Dior Baume

I’m certainly seeing the beauty in the new Rouge Dior Baume collection.. whisper-soft slivers of colour in a balmy texture and perfect for approaching autumn (or now, since we seem to have entirely lost our summer).

Colours from left to right are: Star (no colour, just a little bit of shimmer), Diorette, Spring and Lili????

As you can see, there is a gentle sheen – and they feel all kinds of balmy with no stickiness and all the comfort you’d hope for with any lip balm. To take it down to the minutae, it leaves a fine film rather than a thick or waxy feeling on. Mine has lasted well on my lips in terms of feeling and looking like it’s still there after a couple of hours. It’s not entirely clear what’s in it other than the mysterious sounding Cristal Oil, developed at the Dior Labs.

Launch date for the Rouge Dior Baume is October and the balms will be £26 each.
