How To Improve Your Eyebrows

Eyebrows can make or break someone’s look. They are an important part of the face and can add expression to it. Eyebrows frame the eyes, provide balance to the face, and give facial expressions their full intensity. They are one of the most important parts of a person’s face, as they provide both aesthetic appeal and emotional expression.

Eyebrows have the ability to completely change the look of one’s entire face, as they can add both dimension and length to the eyes, improve the facial structure, highlighting your best features, and can literally frame your face.

There are many makeup products which you can utilise to enhance your natural brows like brow pencils, brow powders, brow gels and brow pens, and whilst they’ll help you achieve your desired brow shape and colour, they don’t offer long term results.

How To Improve Your Eyebrows

Eyebrow Serums

Eyebrow growth serums are a not-so-new beauty trend that is quickly picking up steam. They are designed to help people grow their eyebrows back in faster, thicker, and fuller.

Eyebrow growth serums are made with various ingredients. They can be natural or synthetic, depending on what the consumer prefers. Some serums use natural ingredients like vitamins as well as minerals to promote eyebrow growth. Other serums use products like caffeine to stimulate hair follicles within the eyebrow area and make them stronger and healthier for longer hair growth.

How To Improve Your Eyebrows

Eyebrow Pencils

Eyebrow pencils are the perfect product to create better eyebrows. They have a creamy texture, which means they work well at lifting the hair and adding colour to the brow line. The pencil also offers more control than other products because it has a fixed width and precision tip.

Eyebrow pencils may be useful for people who want to fill in sparse areas in their eyebrows or fix mistakes that they have made with other products. Eyebrow pencils are also a go-to product for those with oily skin or those who live in humid climates because they will stay on longer.

Hair Growth Supplements

There are a lot of different reasons why someone would want to take hair supplements for their eyebrows. Some people might be losing their eyebrows due to a condition such as alopecia, while others might be dyeing their brows and want them to stay healthy.

One thing that is certain, though, is that these supplements can help your eyebrows grow back and look fuller, healthier, and more natural. The benefit of taking these supplements is that they’ll help your brows get back their full shape and thickness, no matter what caused them to thin out in the first place.

How To Improve Your Eyebrows

Eyebrow Microblading

Eyebrow microblading is a procedure that involves drawing on eyebrows with a fine brush, and filling in the gaps with ink. The procedure can be done on men and women, and is often chosen for individuals with sparse eyebrows or who have had to grow out their hair following chemotherapy.

It can create natural looking eyebrows (unlike eyebrow tattoos). There’s no risk to the health of the skin and tissue as it is just an application, and it lasts up to two years, depending on how well you look after your microbladed brows. Eyebrow microblading is a non-surgical procedure that makes creating and shaping brows easier.

Best Vitamins For Healthy Hair and Nails

Vitamins are important for the health of our hair and nails because they are part of a healthy diet.

Vitamins play an important role in our bodies. They are essential for maintaining healthy skin, hair, and nails. Vitamins help to create new cells that replace old ones. They also contribute to the production of keratin which is responsible for forming strong healthy hair and nails.

One of the most common comments people make about their nails is that they break easily and are not strong. If you notice this happening, then it is likely time to change your diet so it includes more protein and iron.

Best Vitamins For Healthy Hair and Nails

In order to have healthy nails, it is important to have a balanced diet that is high in protein, iron, and water as well as vitamins.

The vitamins which are helpful for improving our nails include Biotin, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Zinc.

Biotin is vital for nail health since it helps to strengthen the nails along with hair and skin. It also helps to keep the skin looking young. This vitamin is found in some foods such as avocado, egg yolk, oats, soybeans and sardines.

Vitamin A

The most common reason people have brittle nails is because of a vitamin deficiency. One of the best vitamins to improve brittle nails is vitamin A or beta carotene which can be found in carrots, spinach and sweet potatoes. The recommended dosage is 15 milligrams per day or 20 milligrams at night.

Vitamin A has been shown to be able to promote nail growth and help with the quality of the nail itself. Nails need vitamin A for nail growth and strength because it provides one of the building blocks that is needed by our nails. If we do not get enough vitamin A, then it can lead to weak and brittle nails or even fungal infections on our nails.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C helps us maintain the health of our nails and skin. The human body cannot produce vitamin C, so we need to intake it from food sources. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that can protect the cells from free radical damage.

It can also work as a natural sunscreen. As vitamin c is an important component in collagen production, it is able to make the nails strong by improving the nail bed’s collagen production and protein synthesis process.

Best Vitamins For Healthy Hair and Nails

Zinc

Zinc is a trace mineral that is a key component of hair, skin, and nails. Zinc helps our nails to grow because it is part of the process that makes keratin – which makes up the outer layer of our nails. Zinc deficiency can lead to weaker nails and hair loss.

Biotin

Biotin is a water soluble vitamin which can be found in many food sources like eggs, butter, nuts and cereals. It is also found in the body naturally. This vitamin helps to keep our nails strong and healthy by producing keratin, an important component of nails.

There are many nail benefits to taking biotin supplements or eating foods rich in biotin on a regular basis. These include stronger and healthier nails that are less likely to break or peel away from the nail bed due to dryness or ridging of the nail plate surface.

There are multiple different vitamins and minerals which will help to improve the quality and health of your hair, and nails, and I hope you found this article useful.

Glycolic Acid Skincare Benefits

Glycolic acid is a type of AHA acid. It helps to remove dead skin and smooth the appearance of your skin. AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acid, and it’s a common ingredient in skincare. AHAs are known to improve skin hydration, reduce fine lines, and promote cell turnover.

Glycolic acid is one type of AHA that is most often used in skincare because it has the ability to penetrate the top layer of your skin and stimulate collagen production, which can help give you an even complexion with reduced wrinkles.

Glycolic Acid Skincare Benefits

Glycolic acid isn’t just in skincare – it’s also found in things like acne products because it can help prevent breakouts by fighting bacteria on the surface of your skin.

Glycolic acid has been shown to improve the appearance of skin after only one or two applications. It stimulates the growth of new, healthy skin cells and removes dead, rough patches, plus it’s gentle enough for daily use.

What Are The Benefits Of Glycolic Acid?

Glycolic acid is a potent exfoliant that can help with ageing skin, acne, hyperpigmentation, and even fine lines. It’s important to understand the benefits of using Glycolic Acid in your skincare routine. It’s an effective AHA that helps to exfoliate the skin and make it smoother. This will also help with any acne issues you might be experiencing. Your skin will look brighter and more even after regular use of Glycolic Acid. It also has amazing anti-ageing properties that can help diminish wrinkles and fine lines we all get as we age.

Glycolic Acid Skincare Benefits

What Types of Products Contain Glycolic Acid?

Glycolic Acid is a chemical compound that is found in various skincare products. It has been used for centuries to help people grow healthier skin. It can be found in skin care products such as moisturizers, creams, and facial cleansers. It is also found in many over-the-counter acne treatments. This acid helps remove the outer layer of dead skin cells that have built up on the surface of the skin. This allows new cells to grow and replace older cells with new layers of healthy skin.

Glycolic Acid Skincare Product Examples

  • Sunday Riley Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment
  • The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
  • The Inkey List Glycolic Acid Liquid Toner
  • Pixi Glow Tonic
  • Alpha-H Liquid Gold Toner
  • Medik8 Sleep Glycolic Overnight Peel
  • Nip Fab Glycolic Scrub Fix
  • Peter Thomas Roth 10% Glycolic Solutions Moisturizer
  • Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser
  • Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum
  • CAUDALIE Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Glycolic Essence

  • Farmacy Beauty Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum

Many people are confused at what age to introduce glycolic acid into their skincare routine. The answer to that question is that it depends on the type of skin you have and your goals for using the product.

If you have dry skin, then introducing glycolic acid in your routine earlier than someone with oily skin would be a good idea. It will help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, as well as shrinking pores. For oily skin, it is best to introduce glycolic acid in your routine at a later age because it can make pores more prominent and cause an increase in acne breakouts. Glycolic Acid is gentle enough for daily use, and it’s one of my favourite skincare ingredients, as it works wonders on my dry, blemish-prone skin.

Top Tips For Applying Self Tan

Top Tips For Applying Self Tan

Now summer is finally here, many of us are reaching for self tanning products to achieve a natural, faux glow without exposing the skin to harmful rays. Self-tanning products are a proven way to get a radiant and healthy looking skin without the hassle of applying makeup, so I’ve got some top tips for applying self tan.

Top Tips For Applying Self Tan

What Is Self Tan?

Self tanning is a process that alters the colour of the skin by promoting the production of melanin. In this process, a chemical agent, which is called a melanostatic agent or erythemogenic agent, stimulates skin cells to produce more melanin.

There are many methods of achieving a self tan effect, such a sunless tanning lotions, creams, gels, oils or spray, as well as cosmetics. Self tanning products are classified by their active ingredients and how they work on the skin, which includes physical sunblocks, bronzers, erythematics or irritants.

What Are The Benefits of Self Tan?

When we get tanned, melanin is triggered to protect the skin cells from damage from UV rays. The pigment in the tanning agents binds with the amino acid tyrosine in the dead skin cells to create a protective layer. The darkening of these cells makes our skin look more radiant and healthy.

Self-tanning products use different formulas that contain natural or synthetic tanning ingredients. When applied on the skin, they create a temporary colour change that is often darker than one’s natural pigmentation and can last anywhere from one to four days depending on how much you exfoliate.

Top Tips For Applying Self Tan

Self-tanning products are a great way to get a natural, golden glow. But you’ve got to apply them correctly, or they won’t work. These are the recommended steps:

  1. First, exfoliate 24 hours before you apply self tan with a sugar scrub or coffee scrub on your entire body including your face and neck before rinsing off. This ensures all dead skin cells are removed, and gives you a nice smooth base for the self tan.
  2. When exfoliating, pay extra attention to drier areas like your feet, ankles, elbows and knees.
  3. Next, cleanse with soap or body wash.
  4. Do any planned hair removal, as shaving or waxing can make your tan uneven.
  5. Once you’ve exfoliated, cleansed and removed your planned hair removal, ensure you’ve applied body lotion from head to toe to ensure skin is fully hydrated.
  6. Use a tanning mitt to apply your chosen self tanning product to prevent staining of your hands and nails.
  7. Apply the self-tanner onto your skin and rub in circular motions for best application.
  8. If it’s a wash-off self tan, ensure you rinse your body in cool to warm water, until water runs clear.
  9. If it’s a leave-on self tan product, allow your self tan to fully absorb and dry before getting dressed to avoid any streaks.

How To Get The Best Self Tan Results

Fake tans are a great way to get that sun-kissed look, but often times they fade and wash out quite quickly. The good news is that there are plenty of ways to make your fake tan last longer.

The key to making your tan last as long as possible is exfoliating before application. This will remove all the dead skin cells and leave your skin looking healthy and smooth all over, which will help your tan not only go on more evenly, but also last longer!

Your other option is to use a lotion with alpha hydroxy acids before applying your fake tan. These ingredients will help improve the natural exfoliation process in order to ensure that you have a fresh, glowing, even-toned complexion after having applied the fake tan.

I really hope you’ve found these self tan tips helpful.

Five Makeup Must Haves For On The Go

Five Makeup Must Haves For On The Go

I used to end up with back pain and shoulder pain, just from carrying my handbag around with me all day. I’m the kinda girl that likes to carry everything I could possibly need for any eventuality, but it’s just not practical. So I decided to really curate what I was carrying around in my makeup bag for when I’m on the go as I really don’t need 34 lipsticks for ‘just in case’.

For my makeup bag, I’ve definitely realised small is better. The bigger the makeup bag, the bigger the chance I’d overfill it, so I now ensure that the makeup bag inside my handbag is on the smaller side with just my essentials.

Five Makeup Must Haves For On The Go

Another thing I’ve realised is that I always apply my makeup whilst at home so the only products I need to carry around with me are those I’d use for touch ups. So there’s absolutely no need for a primer as I’d always apply my primer at home before applying any other makeup. There are the odd occasion where I’d perhaps been in a mega rush and need to take a full face of makeup with me, but nine times out of ten, I’ll have applied the majority of my makeup at home before even leaving to go out.

I have around nine products in my makeup bag now in my handbag now, so I wanted to share the products I chose incase you also want to streamline your makeup bag. I’m not mentioning items likes mirrors as they’re a given so these five makeup must haves are purely makeup products I’d need for on the go makeup touch ups.

Five Makeup Must Haves For On The Go

Full Coverage Concealer – before I used to take maybe one or two foundations and then a concealer, but I finally realised it’s definitely unnecessary. By choosing a full coverage concealer, I can then use it for concealing blemishes, breakouts and imperfections, but it also can be built up on the skin to give coverage in lieu of foundation.

I like to have either a makeup sponge or blending brush in my makeup bag, and when dotted all over the face, and blended, concealer doubles up as a foundation perfectly. Plus it’s much lighter than carrying around a weighty foundation bottle which would typically be glass, and prevents any potential smashing incidents too. My personal favourites would be the Barry M All Night Long Full Coverage Concealer as it builds up nicely, works well under the eyes for covering up darkness or imperfections and also lasts well on the skin.

Eyeshadow Palette – For my five makeup must haves roundup, I had to include an eyeshadow option. When I say eyeshadow palette, I’m not talking a full Urban Decay Naked Palette. I’m taking about a small travel friendly palette that would double up well for eyeliner and/or brow powder depending on the shades. I also like my palette to have a mirror in the lid, so I don’t need to carry around a separate mirror too.

The I Heart Revolution Mini Chocolate Eyeshadow Palettes have robust packaging, eight shades in shimmer and matte finishes with multiple different palettes to choose from. The quality is decent and for only £6 it’s not going to break the bank, and I’m not going to worry too much about the shadows being damaged in transit. If you don’t want a full palette, an eyeshadow pencil is another great option as you can draw over the lid and blend with your fingertips in a matter of seconds, and you don’t have any issues with potential damage to powder shadows that way either.

Multi-use Tinted Balm – Instead of carrying around a blusher, lip balm and highlighter I’ve really enjoyed using multi use products in my makeup bag like the Dr. PawPaw balms. They have different tinted versions which you can use for a cream blush, a tinted lip colour, and they add sheen to the cheeks, so you don’t necessarily need to apply a highlighter if you really do want to streamline the products inside your makeup bag. If you have their clear version, it can be used to tame the brows and hydrate cuticles too.

Cream Blush – I try to avoid powder blushes in my makeup bag as they can be bulkier, you need a separate blush brush for application and then the powder formula can be be prone to breakage whilst on the go. Cream blushes are so easy to apply, and some cream blushes like the Stila Convertible Colors double up as a lip colour too. They’re slim compacts with mirrors, and you can apply just with your fingertips in a matter of seconds.

Mascara – I always wear mascara even on my most minimal of makeup days, but I had to include it within my Five Makeup Must Haves For On The Go as it’s such a must-have in my makeup routine.

Five Makeup Must Haves For On The Go

I don’t typically touch up my mascara on a daily basis, but I like to carry one around just incase I have a situation where it’s smudged, flaked or run as I feel like mascara makes such a difference to your whole makeup look. I usually carry around a drugstore mascara like the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara as it can be layered over dry mascara without mega clumps, and it lasts on my lashes all day.

I really hope you found my Five Makeup Must Haves For On The Go useful and it inspires you to streamline your makeup bag.
