My Review of Self Glow By James Read Sunbright Tinted Tan Drops

After Photo – subtle glow

This is such a lovely product and it’s really versatile and easy to use. They give the skin a really natural looking glow without any hint of orange. The above picture shows what a couple of drops mixed with serum looked like the following day. If you want something more intense, you can use extra drops.

The texture is like a super hydrating serum, and it really feels like skincare. The formula mixes easily with serums and moisturisers. I have really enjoyed mixing a couple of drops with the new Drunk Elephant C-Luma serum that I have been testing. I like to apply it in the morning under moisturiser and SPF.

This way, the glow develops gradually throughout the day, which is great whether you are wearing makeup or not. I love it for working from home days, for a little subtle glow, and if I am wearing makeup, I find that it still looks really nice late on in the day, and the tan that has developed kind of makes up for any makeup fade that I might have experienced.

One of the reasons I have tended to avoid using fake tan for my face is that I sometimes find it can cling to my hyperpigmentation. I am pleased to report that this doesn’t highlight my pigmentation.

I also used the Self Glow By James Read Sunbright Tinted Tan Drops to patch up a bit of body tan that had come off on my feet after a few Peloton rides in a row. I used it neat straight on to the skin and it blended in seamlessly. It was a great quick fix before I did my regular ‘scrub everything off and start again’ bath!
