These shadows are pretty easy to work with. They are nicely pigmented so start with a small amount and build and blend.
You can use your finger to apply these, however, I used the new MERIT Brush No. 2. This was enough product to cover both lids:
The new Brush No. 2. uses soft vegan bristles and has one fluffy end and one finer, more tapered end for more precise application along the lash line.
My Review of MERIT Solo Shadows Sheen & Matte
Check out this reel featuring the new Sheen shades with swatches of Iris, Glace, Sartorial and Matchbook, and also application of Matchbook:
MERIT Beauty Solo Shadow in Midcentury
What I love about these shadows is that they give the lids a lovely smooth look and they are easy to apply, blend and build.
They are genuinely long wearing and crease-proof. In fact, when I did the swatches, I had to use an oil cleanser to remove the colours from my arm because they had set down so well.
In spite of the long wear and super smooth finish they offer, they feel very light on the eyelids, and you can apply them and forget about them.
I have fairly oily eyelids, so shadows tend to crease on me even if they are crease resistant, like the new Rare Beauty Eyeshadow Sticks. However, the MERIT Beauty Solo shadows wear so beautifully.
I am really loving the new MERIT Solo Shadow Sheen shades, and the finish is super flattering. I think even if you are slightly scared of shimmers, these will work really well for you.
I do find with the Mattes that the formula does tend to dry out a touch over time, however, I haven’t had the Sheens long enough to be able to comment on how well they last. I do love their performance of ease of application, and I think they will all work beautifully for the festive season.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of those effortless, skin-loving base products that make your complexion look fresh and juicy without ever feeling heavy or cakey. So I was invited me to try the new and improved Lumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20, I was so excited, especially as they’ve recently expanded the shade range to 20 shades!
I’ve been testing it, and I have 10 shades to show you, along with before and after photos and an application reel so you can see exactly how it performs on the skin. Enjoy!
What is Lumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20?
Lumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20 Review & Swatches
The Lumene CC Color Correcting Cream is one of those easy to use base products that promises that real-skin finish we all love. It’s described as a lightweight, hydrating complexion enhancer that evens out tone, neutralises redness, and gives skin a fresh, natural glow, all while protecting with SPF20.
Formulated with Nordic lingonberry and hydrating Arctic spring water, it’s designed to deliver hydration and radiance while caring for your skin barrier.
It is available in 20 shades.
Shades & Swatches
I have 10 of the 20 shades to show you today.
Lumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20 ShadesLumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20 Swatches – Light to MediumLumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20 ShadesLumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20 Swatches – Medium to Deep
It’s worth noting that the formula adapts slightly as it blends, making it more forgiving in terms of shade matching.
My Review of Lumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20
Lumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20 Texture
The texture is so lovely. It’s light yet creamy, meaning it spreads effortlessly over the skin but still feels nourishing and comforting. When I first tried it at the launch event (which involved a sauna and ice bath, might I add!), I matched to shade 4, but I did have quite a bit of fake tan on at the time (for the ice bath and sauna pics!!).
Lumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20 Texture
Now that I’m home and and a bit less bronzed, shade 2 is a perfect everyday match for me, although I will still reach for shade 4 when I want that slightly warmer, bronzier look. I love to use a lighter shade and then to add warmth with my REESON Bronzing Balm* for a fresher, more youthful look.
Application & Finish
It’s incredibly easy to apply. I’ve tried fingers and a brush (my REESON No. 1), and it always blends beautifully. I personally I’m more of a brush girl than a fingers girl, because I just find it less messy.
Once applied, it immediately harmonises the complexion, neutralises any redness, and gives that plump, hydrated, juicy glow that I love.
The coverage is light, so you’ll still see your skin through it (which I love). It’s not one for full-coverage days and you’ll probably want to add a bit of concealer if you have blemishes or pigmentation to cover, but it’s perfect for good-skin days or when you just want to look naturally radiant.
It also softens the look of pores and fine lines, giving skin that lovely smooth, even finish without feeling makeup-y.
SPF20 Protection
It’s good to see that that it includes SPF20, a great added protection for daily wear when you’re mostly indoors. Of course, I’d still recommend pairing it with a dedicated SPF underneath for maximum protection, but it’s a great added bonus for those low-effort days.
Application Reel & Before/After
I’ve made a short application reel below where you can see how easily it blends into the skin and the gorgeous glow it leaves behind. Stay tuned for that.
And here’s a quick before and after so you can see the difference. It’s subtle, but it really just makes my skin look more alive and even.

My Final Thoughts
If you love fresh, hydrated, skin-enhancing base products that feel like skincare, you’ll love the Lumene CC Color Correcting Cream SPF20.
It’s perfect for everyday wear. It gives that no-makeup-makeup vibe that makes you look like you just woke up glowing and well-rested. It feels like a drink of water for the skin, gives you a juicy luminosity, and evens everything out in the most natural way.
If you want to check out some alternatives, here are a few recent reviews of skin tint base products that I am really enjoying:

I have been so excited to share my thoughts on the brand new Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Concealer. I have been testing it out, here’s everything you need to know.
What is Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Concealer?
What is Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Concealer?
This is a new ultra creamy concealer stick designed to perfect, smooth, brighten, and hydrate the skin for a radiant, lifted look, as the name would suggest.
Uses Shiseido Light-Adjusting Technology which instantly adapts and responds to every light source to smooth and diffuse fine lines
Medium-to-full, buildable coverage
Designed to conceal imperfections, smooth & blur fine lines, and reduce the appearance of dark circles
Radiant hydrating finish
24-Hour Wear
Transfer & water resistant
Features a nourishing blend of skin-caring ingredients
Suitable for all skin types
Non-comedogenic & dermatologist tested
Available in 16 shades
Key Ingredients
Light-Adjusting Technology – adapts and responds in any light to instantly
Bio-Hyaluronic Acid and Yuzu Seed Extract – infused into a sensorial weightless texture that blends seamlessly on skin for zero-drag
How to use it
This stick is super easy to use. You just need to twist it up a tiny amount and then swipe it straight on to the skin. Shiseido say:
If applying to a wider area such as under the eye, apply the stick’s top surface to the skin, and glide it lightly to spread the formula
If applying to targeted areas such as dark spots and blemish marks, tilt the stick and use the edge, applying in small circular motions
Alternatively you can use a small brush to pick up product and apply it to the skin.
Stay tuned for an Instagram reel showing all the shades swatched on my face. I’d love your thoughts on which shade suits me best!
My Review of Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Concealer
My Review of Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Concealer
If, like me, you were heartbroken when Shiseido discontinued their brilliant stick concealer, this new launch will absolutely make your day.
I am a huge fan of the Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation (which got an amazing upgrade last year – read my full review here), and it’s one I always recommend to people if they want long lasting, buildable coverage, with a finish that not to dewy and not too matte.
Why Shiseido Launched a New Concealer
When I first noticed that Shiseido had discontined their stick concealer, I was genuinely so sad. It was excellent – creamy, long-lasting, and effortlessly flattering. But now it all makes sense! This new stick formula joins the Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting family, and it’s every bit as lovely as the original. The bonus is that it’s had a skincare upgrade.
The texture is ultra-creamy and literally glides onto the skin with the lightest touch. I love how this goes on – you can’t over apply it and it feels amazing. It is smooth, hydrating, and weightless, and it blends out like an absolute dream.
Application, Coverage & Finish
This concealer has that gorgeous, creamy slip that I loved in the original stick formula. It glides on so easily with no dragging or tugging, and it instantly makes my skin look smoother and fresher.
The coverage is described as medium-to-full and buildable, but in my experience, it’s not what I’d call full coverage, and honestly, I love that. It conceals and enhances rather than masking the skin completely, so the complexion still looks beautifully natural and radiant. You can layer it for a bit more payoff, but the skin always shows through, keeping the finish really fresh and real.
If I have something more stubborn that needs extra coverage, I’d still reach for my other favourite, the Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer Stick* (I use shade Ivory), which gives a more opaque, perfected finish. But for day-to-day brightness and that lifted, healthy look, the Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Concealer is absolutely gorgeous.
The finish is luminous but never shiny, and it wears beautifully throughout the day without creasing or settling. It pairs perfectly with the Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation for that seamless, skin-like glow.
Shades & Range
The Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Concealer is available in 16 shades, designed to complement the foundation range. There’s a good balance of undertones, neutral, warm (golden), and cool (rose), so it’s fairly easy to find a match whether you want to brighten or blend seamlessly into your skin tone.
I think 202 is my best all over match, and 203 is pretty good on my hyperpigmentation. If I want to go bright under my eyes, 201 is good, but I think that 202 looks better and more natural. To see all these shades in action, check out my video above.
Final Thoughts
I’m honestly thrilled with this new concealer. The texture, finish, and performance are all spot-on, and it feels like a modern, elevated way to perfect the skin.
It’s super easy to use and really helps to keep the skin looking natural and fresh.

My Review
Sculpted By Aimee Cream Cushion packaging and puff
Coverage & Finish
What I love most about this foundation is its skin-perfecting coverage. It evens everything out effortlessly and gives a silky, luminous finish that looks like real skin. It gives the skin a gorgeous glow, and if you like the dewy look, you will love this.
Sculpted By Aimee Cream Cushion mesh delivery system
It’s super buildable, so if you prefer a lighter, everyday tint, you can keep it sheer. Or, if you want more coverage, you can layer it up without it looking cakey or heavy.
Longevity & Wear
Even though I don’t tend to set it with powder, the wear time is really impressive. It stays put throughout the day and wears away evenly without clinging to dry patches or settling into fine lines.
And because it’s a cushion compact, it’s super easy to top up whenever you need to. You can just tap on a little more with the puff for a quick refresh.
What skin type is it good for?
I have combination skin and find it really good on my skin type. I love a glow, so it’s ideal for my needs. There’s a chance that if you are oily, it may be a little too glowy for you. It will definitely suit dry or mature skin.
Do you need to powder it?
I am combination skin, as I said, and I have mainly been skipping powder. If I was expecting a super long day, I’d give it a light powder on the t-zone. If you are oily, you will probably need to set this with powder.
Where to buy it
The Sculpted By Aimee Cream Cushion Foundation is £28 for 15g and is available now via the links below:
Final Thoughts
The Sculpted By Aimee Cream Cushion Foundation has quickly become one of my everyday go-tos. It delivers that perfect balance of coverage, glow, and natural finish, and it’s so easy and mess-free to use.
Whether you’re applying it with the puff or your favourite brush, it leaves your skin looking fresh, even, and beautifully radiant.

My Review of Armani Skin Tint
My Review of Armani Skin Tint
What skin type is it good for?
I have combination skin and find it really good on my skin type. I have been testing it for a while and find that I can get away without powdering which is always good news for me.
I think this is probably perfect for dry or mature skin types but I also think oilier skins will like it, and may just need a touch of powder to set it.
Do you need to powder it?
I am combination skin, as I said, and I have mainly been skipping powder. If I was expecting a super long day, I’d give it a light powder on the t-zone. I like to avoid powder for maximum dewiness.
If you are oily, you will probably want to set this with powder.
What is the coverage like?
What I love about this skin tint is that is keeps your skin looking just like skin, yet it is great for subtly covering redness and blurring out pores, fine lines and imperfections.
It’s a sheer coverage formula, and you can lightly build it up without it ever getting cakey. I can use one pump for my whole face, and then I just add a touch more to go over where I have extra redness and pigmentation. It pairs very well with a concealer if you have a bit more to cover in certain areas, and this allows for an overall very natural skin finish.
Sheer as a single thin layer, but forgiving if you go over and build slightly
Don’t expect full coverage, this is not a concealer replacement.
Works beautifully for “no-makeup” or “your best skin” days.
What is the finish like?
I absolutely love the light that this brings to my skin. It has a soft satin sheen that isn’t greasy or oily, but just very fresh. It is nice brightening, and I have actually skipped concealer with this quite regularly.
All in all, this is my kind of skin tint, and if you love makeup with skincare, and a fresh but skin-like finish, I think you could love it too.
On me, it gave a soft-focus / blurring quality: you can still see your skin (freckles, texture) but everything looks smoothed, softened, better.
It doesn’t emphasise pores or fine lines (if your skin is well hydrated) and the blur effect helps
No obvious shine or oily look, it stays fairly neutral and natural.
Texture & Application – Is it easy to apply?
I have been using my REESON No. 1 Brush to apply Armani Skin Tint and I find that it melts into my skin and blends out really easily without tugging.
The texture is fairly thin and liquidy, almost like a serum. Because it’s so lightweight, it layers beautifully. It feels super comfortable on skin and you almost forget you have anything there.
Application Video
Longevity / Wear
I find this nice and longwearing, and as it’s quite a subtle and flexible formula, it tends to fade very evenly and naturally. If you have anything to cover, you might want to top up concealer, but I find this wears very well for a skin tint with skincare type product. I haven’t been powdering but you could definitely extend wear even further by lightly setting it.
Skin Tint vs Luminous Silk: What’s the Difference?
Formula & Feel
Luminous Silk is a classic lightweight foundation with buildable medium-leaning coverage, giving a luminous satin finish
Skin Tint, by contrast, is more of a “sheer veil” / tinted serum. It is lighter and delivers more minimal coverage and is more of a your skin but better vibe
This has been a big question! For me, I find that the new Skin Tint is a great every day product, and is as easy to apply as skincare. I’d say that if you want a more perfected, ultra polished look, then Luminous Silk will most likely be the one for the job.
In my opinion, the new formula is a lot lighter in feel and texture and there is much more emphasis on skincare.
What shade to choose, if you know your Luminous Silk shade
Because the numbering for the new Skin Tint is different, you will probably be thinking: Which Skin Tint shade matches my Luminous Silk shade? Below is my mapping based on info from the brand.
To make things easier, I’ve broken down both the undertone families and how each Skin Tint shade aligns with the Luminous Silk Foundation (LSF) shades you might already wear.

Because the Skin Tint coverage is sheer, each shade stretches beautifully and so a close match will still blend seamlessly. If you’re between two, go slightly warmer for a more healthy and natural look.
My Armani Skin Tint Shade
At the event a few weeks I was shade matched to L3. My Luminous Silk shade is 4.5 (although I have used 4 in the past and bronzed up a bit). L3 in the Skin Tint gives a nice natural and healthy looking glow, and I also think I could go for the Armani Skin Tint in L2 if I wanted something a bit brighter.

Who Should Use Armani Skin Tint?
Best Skin Types
Normal to dry / combination-dry – the formula is very forgiving and comfortable. It will be ideal for those who dislike heavy foundations
Slightly oily / combo skin – it will work if your oily zones are controlled (setting / light powder), but if you have very oily skin you may see more wear issues in the T-zone
Mature / textured skin – the blur and sheer nature makes it forgiving on subtle texture, though highly textured areas might still show
No blemishes / minimal coverage needs – if you mostly want tone-evening, soft glow, and minimal imperfections, this is a dream
If you require heavy coverage (e.g. for pigmentation, scars, acne) you’ll likely want to pair with concealer
Pros & Cons
Pros
Ultra lightweight, comfy wear with added skincare
Natural, skin-like finish with soft blur
Beautiful for no-makeup / everyday looks
Sheer buildable coverage, forgiving shade range
Doesn’t feel heavy or cakey
Cons
Limited coverage (not for heavy coverage needs)
Shade mapping / shade confusion (especially with new numbering) – see guide above
Final Thoughts & Tips
If you’re an Armani Luminous Silk fan who sometimes wishes for a lighter version of your base, this might be your alternate go-to

On days when you want a “less is more” look, this is perfect
