Curél Restorative Aging Care Plumping Hydrating Gel Essence Review

If your skin often feels tight after cleansing, or you’re looking to boost hydration without adding another heavy cream into your routine, a hydrating essence could be exactly what’s missing. I’ve been testing the Curél Restorative Aging Care Plumping Hydrating Gel Essence, here’s what you need to know.

What is Curél Restorative Aging Care Plumping Hydrating Gel Essence?

It helps replenish moisture, supports the skin’s natural barrier and leaves skin feeling plump, comfortable and ready for the rest of your skincare routine.

My Review

I’ve become a huge fan of layering hydration into my skincare routine, and using an essence after cleansing is one of my favourite ways to prep my skin before applying serums and moisturiser. The Curél Restorative Aging Care Plumping Hydrating Gel Essence is designed to do exactly that, delivering an instant boost of hydration while helping to support the skin barrier.

Texture & Application

This is one of my favourite things about the Curél Restorative Aging Care Plumping Hydrating Gel Essence.

The texture sits somewhere between a lotion and a lightweight gel. It has that lovely fluid gel consistency that spreads effortlessly over the skin and absorbs surprisingly quickly.

I simply dispense a couple of pumps into the palms of my hands and gently press it over my face and neck immediately after cleansing. Within seconds my skin feels hydrated, comfortable and perfectly prepped for serum and moisturiser.

It doesn’t leave behind any tackiness, so it layers beautifully with the rest of my skincare routine.

The Hydration & Plumping Effect

This is where I think the Curél Restorative Aging Care Plumping Hydrating Gel Essence really comes into its own.

After applying it, my skin feels noticeably softer and more supple. It gives that lovely “skin has had a drink” feeling that I look for from a hydrating essence, without making my skin feel overloaded with products.

I especially notice the difference when my skin is feeling dry or a little depleted, as it adds that extra layer of hydration that helps everything afterwards apply beautifully.

How It Compares To My Favourite Luxury Lotion

My all-time favourite product in this category is La Mer The Treatment Lotion*, which I absolutely love. It has that beautiful calming, almost cocooning effect on the skin, and it’s been my benchmark for this type of product.

What surprised me about the Curél Restorative Aging Care Plumping Hydrating Gel Essence is how similar the experience feels. The texture has that same lightweight gel-like feel, and it gives skin that immediate feeling of comfort and hydration.

It doesn’t quite have the same effect on redness or visible irritation that I get from La Mer, but given the huge difference in price, I wouldn’t expect it to. What Curél does brilliantly is deliver gentle, barrier-supporting hydration at a much more accessible price point.

Is It Good For Sensitive Skin?

This is where Curél really shines. If your skin is dry, sensitive or prone to feeling uncomfortable after cleansing, I think this is a beautiful product to consider. It feels incredibly soothing and helps support the skin barrier, which is something I think becomes increasingly important as our skin changes with age.

Rather than being an aggressive treatment product, it is all about restoring comfort and maintaining healthy-looking skin. You can read more about the products I reach for when my skin needs some TLC in my Skincare Products I Use When My Skin is Tight, Dry, Reactive guide.

How My Skin Looks & Feels After Using It

After using the Curél Restorative Aging Care Plumping Hydrating Gel Essence, my skin feels calmer, softer and more hydrated.

I love that it doesn’t just sit on the surface of the skin. It feels like it creates the perfect base for the rest of my routine, helping my serums and moisturiser glide on more smoothly.

It’s one of those simple but effective skincare steps that makes my whole routine feel more luxurious.

Final Thoughts

The Curél Restorative Aging Care Plumping Hydrating Gel Essence is one of those products that quietly makes a difference. It isn’t a complicated extra step, but it gives my skin that additional layer of hydration and comfort that I really notice.

If you love the idea of a luxury treatment lotion but don’t want to spend luxury prices, this is a fantastic alternative. It has a beautiful texture, feels soothing on the skin and is particularly lovely if your skin needs hydration and barrier support.

For dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin, I think this is a brilliant addition to a skincare routine. For more recommendations, you can also read my guide to Skincare Products I Use When My Skin is Tight, Dry, Reactive.

Ritual Mind Oasis Experience

Hihi everyone I hope all is well. I went down to the Rituals Mind Oasis in Oxford Street for some much need relaxation. I saw this place on my fyp by chance and I decided to look more into it

I love Rituals as a brand so I was very keen to experience the mind Oasis, especially the brain massage. I booked the ultimate wellbeing experience which is a combination treatment of a 25min hydro massage and a 30 mins mind massage.
Firstly the direction via the website takes you to the wrong Rituals on oxford street lol. You want the Rituals opposite the John Lewis not the one towards Tottenham court road.

I arrived 10 mins late for my 2pm appointment but they were very understanding and explained its a usual occurrence. I was offered tea and shown to my 1st therapy room. This was for the hydro massage. I didn’t know what to expect.

The hydro massage was a warm water bed which combines aromatherapy, red light therapy and sound for relaxation and you can control the intensity of the each. I turned off the red light – can anyone actually confirm the benefits of this lol. And increased the intensity of the aromatherapy and massage.
The massage was better than expected. It really feels like knuckles been dragged across my back. The medium intensity felt nice but I do like stronger intensity for my massages. It covered my whole body as well which was surprising, well up to the calves

The room was clean and there was only 1 other person there so it felt very exclusive for me

Next we went over the other side for the brain massage. This is what I was very keen on. This is in a private pod with sounds to help massage your brain. The anti gravity chair also vibrates and there are some breathing exercises to start you off because 30 mins of calming sounds to help you relax and mediate or turn off your mind.

I found this quite relaxing. I have a hard time turning off my mind but I was very happy for the time to calm and meditate.

Before I knew it the experience was over.

This was such a lovely experience. The staff were amazing. I still got my full 55 mins experience even though I was late. There was no rushing. I signed up to be a member nd recieved a free beach bag which feels like amazing quality

Overall this is truly an Oasis in the middle of one of the most busiest streets in London. The services were super affordable too. £58 for both treatments which is pretty great for London.

I highly highly recommend and will definitely go back for a little treat. Find out more here

NATURIUM Niacinamide Cleansing Gelee Review

hihi everyone, I hope all is well. Naturium has been the talk of the skincare community, ever since the launch of their body washes. Today though, I want to talk about their face wash, in particular the niacinamide cleansing gelee.

I got this cleanser in the 2025 SpaceNK beauty advent calendar and I’m just about to finish it, I started using it in March. Btw, I cant wait for the 2026 beauty calendars line up!

Experience

This cleanser promises a lot and is packed with a lot of active ingredients: it has 3% niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate and a vitamin c derivative and promises to leave the skin feeling fresh, clean and balanced. It can also be used as a face mask! The texture is lovely, its jelly like consistency and produces a low lather, it rinses off well. There’s no fragrance and i had no irritation with it

Ive been using this cleanser for a while now, i started using it as a 2nd cleanser after removing makeup but lately, for the last month, I’ve also been using it as a makeup remover. As a makeup remover its ok, Im still getting used to using a face wash for this step but it is effective at removing makeup and mascara, even eyelash glue. its ok good as a face wash. I feel like with this cleanser i have to wash for longer in order to get a proper deep cleanse.

I’m slightly disappointed with the cleanser because I was hoping it would help with my pores and whiteheads around my nose area because of the addition of niaciamide but i didnt notice a difference here. the cleanser also tends to dry up and clog the pump ( see picture): kinda makes me feel icky lol. I didnt know it can be used as a face mask until i was prepping for this review. I managed to use it as such maybe twice before I finished but it snot enough to comment on its benefits as a face mask

verdict

bittersweet: its an ok cleanser: it removes makeup, it cleanses the face and doesnt dry out the skin but it also didnt blow me away. its huge, the full size is 210ml but it also comes in a travel size 59ml which is great to test out before spending £18.50 on it. I wouldnt buy this partially because I dont like spending more than £6 on a face wash lol( why its going down the drain! lol) but now that Ive used it, I also don’t like it that much it repurchase it. I wish it said on the packaging it can be used as a face mask because I literally didn’t find out till the last min lol

Naturium is becoming a hit and miss brand for me, I was so excited for it to finally be in the UK and I’ve tried a few of thier products but there’s only one item I keep repurchasing: the vitamin C serum. The (intentional) product junkie in me will always give them a chance ( with caution!) though!

Naturium is available at Boots and SpaceNK

Garnier Ideal Bronze Sun Cream Milk-In Spray SPF50 Review

hihi everyone, I hope all is well! Its been a tumultuous start to the summer (like always) but hopefully its smooth riding from now. i know summer is the time most people use sunscreen below the shoulders lool so today I’m reviewing one of my fav body SPFs.

There are SO many affordable sunscreen options in Boots and Superdrug! I feel like, this is one area the drugstore does really well. Over the last couple of years, the amount of sunscreens without any white cast on dark skin have almost double so you can be sure you will find a suitable one!

Garnier Ideal suncream milk in spray SPF 50 is a lightweight milk that feels amazing on the skin and smells GREAT. the scent is tropical, reminds me of coconuts and masks the sunscreen scent well. the scent lingers through the day. the sunscreen scent isnt as strong as some others Ive used in the past.

Is it invisible on the skin? YES- this sinks into the skin so quickly and easily and leaves 0 cast! I’ve noticed it leaves my skin looking bronzy and this is due to the vita-melanin formula. there’s no pigment in the SPF but it helps to get an even tan. I used this SPF when I was vacationing in Antigua back in April and 0 sun burn ( never been sun burnt and I am hoping to stay that way). It layers on well- there’s no sticky feeling and no heavy or greasy feel on the skin- this is particularly important when reapplying especially when its so hot! It rinses off well- i do have to wash twice to ensure it comes off which is a good thing! you don’t want SPF that easily comes off. I have it on in the pics and there isn’t a trace of cast anywhere!

Verdict

I wont lie I was very skeptical when I first recieved this from Garnier sometime last year or the year before but after that initial use, Ive repurchased twice and on my 3rd bottle now! this has become my fav body SPF and I have been recommending to everyone. it comes in SPF30 and 50 but I always stick to the latter. Its also availble in aerosol mist which I also have been using and will bring a review soon.

At the £7 price its so affordable and effective to not try! Its available from boots

catch you later! Make sure you are wearing your sunscreen
