If you are looking for a really fresh, vibrant and sparkling scent for spring time, I might just have found it. Here’s the lowdown on the new Acqua di Parma Buongiorno Eau de Parfum.

What is Acqua di Parma Buongiorno?

This is a new Eau de Parfum inspired by the arrival of spring in the Tuscan hills:

Long-lasting fragrance
Features a bright and energising blend of citrus, herbs, and florals
Has a soft base cedarwood and amber
Uses a co-distillation process for a balanced fragrance
Presented in an stunning yellow bottle
Available in 50ml, 100ml and 180ml

The Notes

Top Notes: Lemon, Rosemary, Spearmint, Basil, Petitgrain

Heart Notes: Lavandin, Mandarin Leaves

Base Notes: Cedarwood, Amber, White Musk

My Review

There aren’t many super fresh and spring like fragrances I love, because I am all about the deeper, darker fragrances out there on the market, but I absolutely love this one.

On first spritz, it reminded of me of Atelier Cologne’s Clementine California which I used to adore (and is sadly no longer available in the UK). Buongiorno is fresh and super juicy like Clementine California yet it has more depth and more of a grounding creamy smoothness, which makes it appealing in completely different way.

I find Acqua di Parma Buongiorno so uplifting and motivating. It’s literally like spritzing sunshine and it’s so juicy and vibrant and sunny.

The addition of spearmint is really interesting and it’s not a note that I thought I’d like in a citrussy scent, but I really love the crispness it gives, that’s refreshing without being overpowering.

As it develops, the floral heart starts to peep through with a hint of lavender which I absolutely love, and it stays juicy with mandarin leaves which have an intense citrus vibe with floral undertones.

The fragrance settles beautifully into its soft woody base and it’s super skin-like and creamy with cedarwood, amber, and white musk. It’s lovely and comforting and the citrus becomes softer and more soothing. It really all works so nicely together – soft and super wearable.

I find it lasts really well on my skin and I can still smell it maybe 5 or 6 hours later which I think is pretty impressive for something so airy and fresh. It’s one of those scents you can spritz generously in the morning and still catch little whiffs of throughout the day.

As soon as I heard the name Jo Malone London Beach Blossom I was extremely interested to try it. I don’t think I’ve really seen a fragrance with this kind of vibe from Jo Malone so I immediately wanted to know more. Here’s what you need to know.

What is Jo Malone London Beach Blossom?

This fragrance has been designed to instantly transport you to warmer climes. Think beaches (obviously), warm sun on your skin, and closing your eyes and waking up in the Seychelles (not that I’d know what that is like!).

Pack your bags for a summer escape. On the idyllic palm-fringed beaches of the Seychelles, encounter the rare coco de mer. Basking in tropical sunlight, the sea coconut’s sculptural form inspires the fresh solar scent of Beach Blossom Cologne.

A refreshing twist of coconut water carried on the breeze, meeting the sparkling clarity of lime and mint, wrapped in the allure of tonka bean.

The Notes

Top Note: Lime – zesty freshness

Heart Note: Coconut Water – light and refreshing

Base Note: Tonka Bean – warm accents of vanilla and almond

My Review

This is a lovely beachy fragrance, and I can’t really think of anything similar in the Jo Malone London collection. It has creamy coconut with a little bit of a suntan lotion vibe which I always find really comforting.

The lime and mint give it a kind of summer cocktail feel at the start but there’s also something about it that reminds me of the Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt, although that one conjures up a completely different type of beach – more British, less tropical. Beach Blossom is all about a sun-kissed summer getaway.

First Impressions

The bottle is understated, and chic, but I have to say, I do really prefer the square Jo Malone bottles, as opposed to these rounded ones. But that’s just a personal preference!

What does Jo Malone Beach Blossom smell like?

At first spritz, Beach Blossom has a fresh and airy citrus brightness that’s really enlivening and uplifting. It is softly sweet, but not in an overpowering way and it is freshly floral rather than sugary.

Everything softens out to a lovely creamy, skin-like warmth that feels super comforting with those vibes of sunshine and sea salt on your skin.

Longevity & Performance

This isn’t a huge fragrance, you can definitely smell it on yourself, but it isn’t overpowering at all. I found that it lasts really well on my skin. I could still smell it on my wrist about 6 hours after spritzing which I was pretty impressed with.

Who Will Love It?

If you love breezy, sun-drenched florals with a touch of salty skin warmth, this one will be for you. It’s chic and feminine, and combines summer freshness with richer creamy notes that give you that cashmere hug feeling. I think this will be a real crowd pleaser.

Final Verdict

Beach Blossom Cologne is a gorgeous summery fragrance that isn’t too heady and keeps things nice and radiant and fresh. I think this would be an easy blind buy as it ticks all the boxes for a summer scent that still has cosy vibes, and it’s limited edition so you might want to snap it up before it’s gone.

My Review

I am a big fan of NEOM and I am always partial to an exfoliating handwash as not only do they make skin super smooth, I just think they go a bit further when it comes to actually making sure your hands are clean.

What’s especially nice about the NEOM Great Day Exfoliating Hand Wash is that the exfoliating beads are super smooth and gentle, so you get a thorough cleanse without feeling that it’s too much.

The Great Day scent is gorgeous. The mint and mandarin combo is really lovely – it fresh and bright and really motivating. The formula is nice and hydrating and doesn’t strip the skin at all, plus it leaves your skin beautifully fragrant.

The matching Hand Lotion is also lovely and is light enough to slap on and then get on with whatever you are doing. It sinks in really quickly, which is important for me because I spend a lot of time on my laptop.

NEOM Great Day Exfoliating Hand Wash refill

The packaging is excellent. It is fully recyclable, including the actual pump, which is an industry first. Plus you can buy a big refill pouch* which is also recyclable. Brands have been doing refills for a while now, but often the pouch itself can’t be recycled. So this is another major win for NEOM.

And as well as being recyclable, the packaging also looks super chic, and they really are as lovely to look at as they are to use.

My Review

Design and Aesthetics

NEOM Wellbeing Pod Mini compact packaging

The Wellbeing Pod Mini has a super sleek, minimalist design. It is very cute. The compact size makes it ideal for small spaces and easy storage. I think it looks great in my kitchen where it serves the double purpose of lifting spirits and getting rid of cooking smells!

Functionality

One of the standout features of this diffuser is its waterless operation. All you have to do is charge it up, screw in your chosen NEOM Essential Oil Blend*, and you’re set. There are three intensity settings, you can tailor the diffusion to your preference, ensuring just the right amount of scent to suit your mood. I am an all or nothing person, so it’s full whack for me!!

Performance

I love how quickly this scents the room, and it’s surprisingly quick considering how dinky the pod is! I currently have a reviving blend in there, but I think I might change it to a sleep blend and take it up to the bedroom to use before bed time. It scents even a pretty large space really fast, so it will be great just before bed.

The fact that you don’t need to add water like the large pod (which I also love) means there’s absolutely no mess, and it’s super portable.

NEOM Wellbeing Pod Mini vs. Aromatherapy Associates The Atomiser

I also have the Atomiser from Aromatherapy Associates and love it, so I thought it might be useful to compare the two.

While the NEOM Wellbeing Pod Mini is super sleek and compact, the Aromatherapy Associates Atomiser has a heavier, more premium type of vibe. Whilst it’s portable, it’s not as travel friendly as NEOM’s mini.

In terms of functionality and ease of use, they are very similar. Both are waterless and you just pop in the bottles of essential oils of your choosing. The NEOM mini has up to 50 hours of charge, whereas I believe the AA one has 18 hours of charge.

As the NEOM mini is super compact, it is better suited to smaller spaces whereas the AA one has more powerful diffusion, making it ideal for larger spaces.

In terms of price and value, the NEOM Wellbeing Pod Mini is £55, making it a more affordable option to the Aromatherapy Associates Atomiser which is £130 (although currently on offer here for £104*). The AA one is clearly more of a splurge, but you’re paying for the premium ceramic design and stronger diffusion power. Both are fantastic options.

There’s a brand new Cologne Intense in the Jo Malone line up and it’s a very lovely limited edition. Here’s everything you need to know about Jo Malone London Taif Rose Cologne Intense. As someone who loves rose with a twist, this fragrance had me intrigued!

What is Jo Malone London Taif Rose?

This is a new, limited-edition Cologne Intense. The name, Taif Rose, comes from a precious rose indigenous to Taif, a city in Saudi Arabia.

Céline Roux, Global Head Of Fragrance for Jo Malone London says,

Taif Rose is different to all our other rose scents because it takes you to a different place: a place high in the mountains, where pink roses perfume the air to create a scent that’s majestic and completely unmistakable.

It comes in a 50ml pink glass bottle that makes quite the statement.

The Fragrance Notes

Top Note: Rose Infusion – petal-soft floral note, reminiscent of Arabian rose water

Heart Note: Taif Rose – intense, soft, powdery scent

Base Note: Coffee – a rich, toasted note

My Review

I love the way that Jo Malone London weaves incredible stories into every bottle, and the Taif Rose Cologne Intense is no exception. This scent is inspired by the exquisite Taif roses, a rare and highly prized rose from Saudi Arabia, known for its rich and intoxicating aroma.

I liked the fragrance when I first sprayed it but I have to say, every time I have worn it since, I have liked it more and more, to the point where I think I am now mildly obsessed. And seeing as I like it it more each time – actually something that rarely happens to me because if I love something, I love it – this is likely to become a full blown obsession!

In fact, I have actually already started to get annoyed that it’s a limited edition and to question whether I should allow myself to get attached!! But, I think it’s too late, because as I am smelling my wrist as I type this, I am liking it more and more. Oh dear! I am afraid to say, it’s very addictive.

The Notes

Taif Rose Cologne Intense offers up a lovely journey of notes. The top note is subtly fresh and bright and then the heart unfolds to a rich yet sweet rose with that soft suggestion of Turkish Delight. This isn’t an old fashioned rose note. It is lush and smooth and sensual, and as I said, completely addictive.

But I think it’s the base that has completely got me. It is cosy, warm and ambery. Gorgeous. It has a hint of coffee but not too much. I don’t always love coffee in scents, but this coffee note actually gives the fragrance a beautiful smoky quality that isn’t at all overwhelming. It has a fire side kind of feel, but just a suggestion, not a full on ‘hair and clothes smelling of smoke’ situation!

Jo Malone London Taif Rose is a deep and rich fragrance but it isn’t overly heavy which means it will be great for both day and evening wear. It has a lovely sensual quality but it is still has a professional and sophisticated feel.

If you find Velvet Rose & Oud too heavy, I think this could be your perfect Jo Malone sensual rose.

The Wear

Jo Malone’s Cologne Intense range is designed to be the more concentrated, longer lasting options within the brand’s portfolio and Taif Rose delivers on these points.

I love how this fragrance develops on the skin. The rose becomes creamy and softly smoky with all the cosy vibes and I find it really very long lasting. I can still detect it maybe 6 hours later, even at arm’s length.

The Bottle

Can we take a moment to appreciate the packaging? The iconic Jo Malone bottle normally has a sleek, black lacquered finish for the Cologne Intense collection, however, here we have a vivid flash of pink. This will make it perfect as a Valentine’s gift. What good timing!

Final Thoughts

If you’re a rose lover, then I think you should definitely give Jo Malone London Taif Rose a go. It’s an elegant and versatile fragrance that can take you from day to night, and office to date night. I personally love it, and am a bit sad that it’s a limited edition.
