My Review

Attitude Sunly Sunscreen Stick SPF30 Orange Blossom
Attitude Sunly Sunscreen Stick SPF30 Orange Blossom

Because I am so fair (without my fake tan!) I usually always opt for an SPF50 sunscreen. Even though the difference between the levels of protection isn’t as great as it seems (SPF 30 allows about 3% of UVB rays to hit your skin, whereas 50 is nearer to 2%), I still prefer to go as high as I possibly can. This is because, if you think about it, 3% of rays is actually 50% more than 2% of rays! Anyway….

Having said that, I was really keen to try out these Attitude Sunly Sunscreen sticks because they are so convenient, and travelling with big bottles of sunscreen is one of the reasons that I always avoid hand luggage-only.

In terms of texture, this is one I’d choose for my body rather than my face, because I prefer a much finer, more fluid facial sunscreen. I did try this on my face, and I find it can leave a very faint white cast and needs a fair bit of working in, whereas body application is pretty effortless. I just draw it on and then smooth it in and it’s done.

I find the format is great for body tops on the go, and you can be precise with application, to avoid getting sunscreen on your clothes.

I have been trying the Orange Blossom scent and it’s really nice. It has that soft sunscreen smell that I love, with a touch of floral fruitiness that is really pleasant.

Paula’s Choice Advanced Sun Protection Daily Moisturizer SPF50 Review

hihi everyone, I hope all is well. Today I have another sunscreen review and try on for dark skin tones. I’m very passionate about encouraging black people to wear sunscreen more so I have to make sure to find suitable options for us. Please check out my Dark skin sunscreen menu for lots more options. I have videos on my insta too

I love Paula’s Choice as a brand and I have tried a few of their sunscreens too. This one is a new sunscreen that came out last year (I think). I got the travel size as a gift with purchase and Ive been using it for a while now.

This is SPF moisturiser which makes it very convenient as you don’t have to layer over a morning moisturiser. It promises high factor broad spectrum protection for normal & dry skins with a ultra sheer finish. This one has a high PA rating and added antioxidants

Experience

It’s a very lightweight lotion texture, that feels light and silky on the skin with no oily/greasy feel. I did not experience any irritation with the SPF and it did not sting my eyes. It leaves a dewy finish but nothing that is too shiny. I use the standard 2 fingers full to get the correct amount for my face and neck

Is it 100% invisible on dark skin– NO! Although it promises an ultra sheer finish, it does leave a slight white cast on my skin. Its not the worst cast I have experienced, but its still there and I wont be able to leave the house with this only without a bit of powder. Its pretty difficult to see in my pictures below but if you look on my neck, you can see piling and a cast on my skin.

So the other issue I have with this SPF is pilling. As you can see it piles and settles in the lines on my neck. It also sticks to the hairline.

Verdict

This is a no from me and I’m disappointed as PC is one of my fav brands. infact one of my fav ever sunscreens is from them! This one leaves a cast AND it piles! I can easily cover a white cast with makeup but the piling? makes applying makeup difficult! sigh. I do not like the sunscreen at all and if you can believe it, I still haven’t finished that 15ml travel size! I’ve switched to something else.

My Review of the new formula of Chantecaille Just Skin

Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer Shade Bliss
Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer Shade Bliss

It has been a while since I used Chantecaille Just Skin but I used to really enjoy it, especially as it was one of the first types of tinted moisturiser and one of the early skincare and makeup hybrid products that also contained SPF.

I have been testing out the new formula for a couple of weeks and I really like it. It is super easy to apply, and the gel-cream texture melts into the skin effortlessly.

It feels weightless on the skin, and once applied I have been forgetting that it’s even on my skin. It just feels like really good skincare.

Chantecaille Just Skin offers light buildable coverage and I think it’s really good at evening out skin tone and making the appearance of pores and fine lines much less obvious. I find it very good for neutralising redness too, and it just delivers a really harmonised look.

I find that the shade Bliss softly warms up my complexion, so it doesn’t look odd if I literally put this one and nothing else. You know how some foundation products instantly need something adding on top? This doesn’t – it’s such a good one and done product.

I love the softly dewy finish, and the fact that you can build it up in the areas that need a bit more coverage. It is super hydrating and comfortable, and I find that it lasts really well on my skin, in fact, I am surprised to see how even and perfected my skin looks when I look in the mirror, as it doesn’t feel like I have anything on.

Although it does have SPF15 in the formula, I wear it over a dedicated sunscreen for more enhanced protection. I’m really enjoying it and it’s staying in my makeup bag for the foreseeable.

My Review of The Inkey List Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm Tints

The Inkey List Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm Tints Review

This balm has a lovely texture and formula. It feels really light on the lips yet gives a lovely glossy finish and long lasting hydration. They are extremely comfortable to wear, and although they have the plumping claim, there is no discomfort or irritation.

The Hyaluronic Acid in the formula has a lovely instant plumping effect on the lips, and it makes the lip surface look really smooth and flawless. It gives a good volumised look and your lips feel lovely juicy when you’re wearing it.

The shine is fairly long lasting, although you need to top up regularly if you want to keep a high shine. All the shades work nicely on their own, and also with lip liner for a more defined look.

If you’re in the market for a lip liner with staying power, I am absolutely loving the Sweed Beauty Lip Liners. To see some of those, read: Sweed Lydia Millen Le Lipstick & Lip Liner Review & Swatches.

It’s hard to decide which shade is my favourite, as they are all so wearable, but I think that Mocha will probably be the most popular one.
