If you’re anything like me, the idea of finding the best foundation with SPF is very interesting! I look for something that gives my skin a flawless finish and adds a bit of protection from the sun. Over the years, I’ve tried a lot of foundations, and this roundup is your go-to guide for the real standouts.
Whether you want a skin-loving glow, fuller coverage, or something super breathable, these foundations do it all with SPF built in.

Choosing the best foundation with SPF is a brilliant way to combine makeup and skincare in one easy step. While I believe it’s still essential to use a dedicated sunscreen as your base layer, SPF in foundation provides that extra layer of protection and is especially helpful for days when you’re out and about.
Although I always use a separate sunscreen, I love a foundation that also includes SPF. These are some of the best ones I have tested and love to use.

It’s my top pick for high SPF lovers who still want that skin-first, lightweight feel.
Why it’s one of the best foundations with SPF: High protection, serum benefits, and an easy-to-wear, skin flattering finish.

Another brilliant Shiseido formula and this is one I choose for a really reliable fuller coverage and long wear finish. It has SPF 30 and uses light-reflecting pearls for subtle luminosity. I think it is especially flattering on more mature skin. It is medium to full buildable, offers 24 hour hydration and wear, and it also water and transfer resistant. Genuinely one of the best ever foundations I’ve tried and it’s one I use when I want coverage I can count on all day.
Why it’s one of the best foundations with SPF: Naturally radiant, very long-lasting, and brilliant for smoothing out texture.

Kosas nailed the hybrid makeup–skincare brief with this beautifully formulated foundation. It delivers dewy, skin-loving coverage and is packed with powerhouse ingredients like niacinamide, peptides, squalane, and caffeine to visibly brighten and smooth the complexion over time. It feels lightweight and breathable, never heavy or cakey, making it ideal for everyday wear.

The KOSAS foundation is is £35 and available via the links below:
No. It’s best to use a separate broad-spectrum SPF underneath your makeup. Most people don’t apply enough foundation to reach the advertised protection level. Use your foundation to top up protection, not replace it.
If you are indoors, or only exposed for short periods, it can be enough but only low-exposure days as you are unlikely to apply enough product to achieve the correct dose. For longer sun exposure, layer a proper SPF underneath.
Some formulas with high SPF can cause flashback in photos due to zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. However, all the foundations I’ve featured here do not cause noticeable flashback in my testing.
Finding the best foundation with SPF is such a smart beauty move. Not only do these formulas offer beautiful coverage and finish, but they also help support your skin against sun damage.
From Clinique’s high-protection powerhouse to the dewy perfection of Shiseido and Kosas, each pick on this list has earned its place through real-life wear and results.
Top Tip: Always apply a standalone SPF underneath, then layer your SPF foundation on top for max protection and glow.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these, or if you’ve found your own best foundation with SPF. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
If you’re more of a skin tint kind of complexion person, and still want to get SPF into you makeup, I have a whole blog post dedicated to that too. Check it out via the link below.

When Elemis launches a new product under its Pro-Collagen line, I tend to sit up and take notice. This is a brand known for fusing spa-grade luxury with clinically backed skincare performance, and their latest release, the Elemis Pro-Collagen Toning Mist, is no exception. I’ve been trying it out and I’m genuinely impressed. Here’s my in-depth review, with everything you need to know.

The Elemis Pro-Collagen Toning Mist is the latest addition to Elemis’ iconic anti-ageing range. Designed to be used post-cleanse, this ultra-fine facial mist acts as a hydrating, balancing, and priming step in your skincare routine. It’s formulated to deliver an immediate boost of moisture while also refining pores and enhancing the absorption of subsequent serums and moisturisers.
Marine Biotech Ferment – works to rebalance sebum and reduce the appearance of pores for a refined appearance
Gluconolactone – polyhydroxy acid (PHA) that promotes healthy skin turnover
Padina Pavonica – brown macroalgae, rich in antioxidants, that supports skin hydration.
This product is designed to be used every morning and evening after cleansing. You can spritz it on to a cotton pad and gently wipe it over your face and neck or simply spritz 2-3 pumps over the face.
What I would say is that I’d recommend sticking to the recommended dose as this does contain PHA exfoliant (gluconolactone). While this is gentle, it still does have an exfoliating action and it’s key to make sure you’re not over-exfoliating to maintain barrier health.
More on that in this Instagram Reel:

I actually have a bit of a sentimental connection to Elemis toners. One of my first ever toners was their iconic Soothing Apricot Toner. That spray will forever hold a special place in my heart, so I was really curious (and a bit excited!) to see how this new Pro-Collagen edition would compare.
Let’s start with the mist itself. It is super fine. Like, cloud-fine. This isn’t one of those aggressive sprays that leave droplets; it puffs across the face like a veil of hydration. I absolutely love how it feels on the skin. It’s incredibly refreshing without being wet or sticky.
As soon as the Elemis Pro-Collagen Toning Mist hits the skin, it feels as though you’ve just applied a light serum. There’s this lovely, tangible softness and bounce that’s quite addictive. It takes the skin from feeling “just cleansed” to comforted and hydrated in seconds.
This is a brilliant post-cleanse step and it layers very nicely under serums or treatments. Be mindful that it contains gentle exfoliating agents so try to avoid serums or treatments that are also exfoliants.
I have noticed that this mist is great at helping other skincare products to absorb more effectively and that my hydrating serums in particular feel like they lock in better when layered after this mist.
I think this has a lovely quenching and plumping effect. It gives my skin a lovely dewy look and is great for softening out the appearance of dehydration lines.
As someone with combination skin, I feel the Elemis Pro-Collagen Toning Mist is really balancing. Thanks to the PHA which gently refines the skin without stripping.
The Elemis Pro-Collagen Toning Mist is suitable for all skin types but will be especially loved by:
Personally, I feel this is more than just a face mist, it’s more like a treatment step. The cloud-like texture, combined with the hydrating and pore-refining benefits, makes the Elemis Pro-Collagen Toning Mist a real winner in my book. It’s the kind of product that quietly upgrades your routine, boosting everything that comes after it.
If you’re looking for a toner that actually does something, without disrupting your skin’s balance, this could be it. But, remember, it does have an exfoliating action, so make sure you are not doubling up on that with your other steps.
The Elemis Pro-Collagen Toning Mist is £45 and available now via the links below:
My other current Elemis obsession is their latest cleansing balm in Black Cherry. To find out more read Elemis Pro-Collagen Black Cherry Cleansing Balm Review.

If you’ve followed me for years, you know I’ve always liked La Roche‑Posay sunscreens, however, the new La Roche‑Posay Anthelios UVAIR Daily SPF50+ takes it to the next level and I think it truly stands in a league of its own. Here’s what you need to know.

Niacinamide – to even out skin tone and help brighten
Hyaluronic Acid & Glycerin – for hydration and moisturisation
Tocopherol – provides antioxidant protection

The texture of this sunscreen is where it really shines. It’s:
When I apply it, it sinks in straight away with literally no rubbing in required. It leaves absolutely no white cast, not even for a second. There’s no chalkiness, no residue, and absolutely no heaviness.
It’s the kind of SPF you want to apply, and for me, that makes all the difference in daily use.
I find this SPF keeps me hydrated all day. It genuinely feels like a hydrating serum and there’s no tightness or dryness, even after hours of wear.
Despite its hydrating benefits, it also plays well with oil-prone areas. I find my T-zone stays balanced, and there’s no midday greasiness, which is a major win.
It sits beautifully under makeup. There’s no pilling, no clumping, no weird texture issues. Whether I wear a light skin tint or a full foundation, this SPF acts almost like a primer and it gives a smooth, hydrated base that grips product well.
It comes in a slimline plastic bottle with a precise nozzle tip. It’s easy to control how much you dispense, and I love how compact and mess-free it is. Perfect for throwing in a handbag or travel bag
In a word: yes. I’ve tested countless daily sunscreens over the years, and while La Roche-Posay has always been a favourite, this formula is easily their most elegant and wearable yet.
It gives me everything I want in a daily SPF:
It’s a sunscreen I look forward to applying and that says it all.
If you’ve struggled to find a daily SPF that feels like skincare, offers serious protection, and actually fits into your makeup routine, La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVAIR Daily SPF50+ is absolutely worth a look.
It’s light, hydrating, invisible, and effective, everything a modern sunscreen should be.
