Ultra Violette Fave Fluid SPF 50+ Skinscreen Review

Hey hey, how are you doing? I hope all is well. Today I have a sunscreen demo & review from a brand that is new to me. Last year I discovered more of Ultra Violette, a sunscreen brand based in Australia. I say more of because I had heard of this brand and tried one of their mineral sunscreens ages ago but I didn’t like it because it wasn’t invisible on me. I forgot about this brand until I saw this sunscreen set below.

I thought this was the perfect way to try out the brand again, with travel sizes of thier sunscreens to find one I loved before getting the full size.  This post will be a full review on the very popular fav fluid (green)

What is it
A chemical sunscreen with advanced filters that protect against both UVA & UVB rays. It also has vit E and amino acids for free radical protection & hydration and plumping the skin.

Experience
The product is extremely lightweight and has a light fluid texture. It’s very runny and goes onto the skin with ease. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and I don’t feel it clogging pores.
Is it invisible on dark skin? YES. This blends into the skin with zero white cast

What I really love about this sunscreen is how easy it is to layer on without no piling. I found it very easy to use and it leaves a nice dewy finish and hydrates the skin. It works well under makeup.

Conclusion
We love a good sunscreen over here! A broad spectrum SPF with additional beneficial ingredients, the fav fluid ticks all the boxes. With zero cast on dark skin & and an extremely lightweight texture, this one is so great in the summer and for all skin types & tones.

Ps the other suitable SPFs in this set that are invisible on dark skin

  • Hand & body spf 50 (blue)- a body spf that feels slightly heavy on the skin and has a slight shimmer to it. I liked this and will get the mini size again as handcream in the summer
  • Preen Screen (Spf spray,pink)- now I love a dewy finish but this spray is TOO DEWY. It’s so shiny that it looks like sweat and I didn’t like it . The scent of alcohol in this is strong too. It’s invisible and won’t leave marks on makeup but the shine is too much. I ended up using it indoors at home as an spf. I wont repurchase

Did not enjoy

  • Supreme Screen (yellow one)- I’m not sure if this is supposed to be tinted but it’s heavy on the skin and left a slight cast. I didn’t enjoy using this.
  • Sheen Screen in Bejewelled- lovely subtle tint on the lips. Love the sun protection but the taste of this is so horrible. I didn’t like this so I stopped using it. I need to take my lip spf more seriously this year
  • Clean Screen (green)- do not attempt to use this is dark skinned lol- its not suitable and leaves a cast
  • Lean Screen (purple)- This is the one I had used previously. Its a mineral SPF which leaves a slight cast on the skin. It’s not the worst I’ve ever had but not 100% cast free

Based on the trial of all the SPFs, the 2 I would buy again are the hand & body and fav fluid as I enjoyed these the most. The rest of them I wont bother with. I actually got the Queen Screen SPF 50+ Luminising Serum in the SpaceNK advent calendar and I’m looking forward to this one! I watched a few videos on this and it is cast free on dark skin.

if you want to try the mini SPF gift set and the many others from the brand, they are available on Spacenk. They have lots of different sets so I’m sure you will find something suitable!

hope this was helpful

Round Lab 1025 Dokdo On The Go Kit Review

Hihi everyone, I hope all is well

As you know, last year I rediscovered K beauty and ordered from Stylevana for the very first time! Several orders later I’ve been trying so many new (to me ) K beauty brands. One of those new brands was Round Lab. They had a trial set that I thought was the perfect introduction to the brand. In this post I will be reviewing the products in the set

I got the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo On The Go Kit which comes with a cleanser, toner and lotion(emulsion). The set is currently out of stock at Stylevana but the products are available to get individually.

Cleanser

The 1025 Dokdo Cleanser is formulated with hyaluronic acid and ceramides to gently cleanse the skin without disrupting the skin’s barrier. I’m currently using this in both my AM & PM routines. The formula does foam up nicely and I find it to give a thorough cleanse without leaving my skin dry. I really like this cleanser and I’ve had no issues again. A little goes a long way

Toner

a fuss free toner, it was nothing special tbh and I had no issues with it. I didnt experience any brightening as promised but I liked how it felt on my skin. Will I buy this as a stand alone product? probably not as there are other k beauty toners i love

Lotion

This was the star of the show for me. The lotion was lightweight and incredibly hydrating. This has triple hyaluronic acid and promises to provide deep and long lasting moisture and soften rough texture and skin! It delivers on that promise! I didn’t need a moisturiser after the lotion and its something I will definitely look to buy again

Conclusion

I hope this set comes back in stock soon because its the perfect intro to the brand, and the sizes make it perfect for travel. I would buy the full sizes of the cleanser and lotion again as I really enjoyed them. The set is really geared towards all skintypes but I think dry to normal skin will benefit the most. Round lab is available from Boots in the UK if you wanted to get them quicker! Or Amazon

SupraFade Hyperpigmentation Review

hihi everyone, I hope all is well. Today I have a full review of the Supradafe hyperpigmentation serum I finished last month

Suprafade is the first product from HUE, a black owned skincare brand based in the UK. The promise is “A serum formulated with 7 active ingredients and antioxidants working synergistically to target the signs and causes of hyperpigmentation, discolouration and dullness. Engineered to be gentle enough for nightly use, our formula starts working in as little as two weeks. To ensure maximum efficacy and results, we always use ingredients at their active level. “

Experience

I introduced this to my routine on 9/6 very slowly. In the first week I used it once then twice in the 2nd week- I do this to prevent any irritation when starting new products. I started using nightly from 23/6. I finished the product 20/8. I experienced no issues with the serum.

Suprafade has no noticeable scent and I didnt find it particularly hydrating. It layers well with other serums with no pilling and works well with retinol ( I use MEdik8’s r-Retinoate® Intense) and acids with no issue

The serum has really big claims, on the website they claim: In a consumer study, participants agreed that there was a dramatic improvement in hyperpigmentation within 6 weeks. 2 weeks- 80% agreed skin tone was more even. 4 weeks- dark spots were obviously reduced. 6 weeks- complexion was significantly more even

For me the experience was very different, by 4 week I couldn’t really tell if my dark spots were fading or not, infact by the time I finished the bottle I was still on the fence. June to Aug were bad skin months for me, I had a lot of texture and spots that led to new hyperpigmentation. I’m not sure if the serum helped deal with that. I had 2 old spots I really wanted to target with the serum and to me they dont look any better.

Mark 1 is an old hyperpigmentation spot Ive been trying to get rid of and it was what I wanted Hue to target. I can barely tell the difference by the 20th when I finished the serum. Mark 2 looks slightly better but 3 is also confusing, Im not sure if there was any improvement. Other areas of my face are also the same I can barely see a difference.

I do like the texture of the serum, its very lightweight and it pairs well with other products. Whilst its not the most hydrating serum out there it is ok. I also like the pump jar it came in.

Verdict

To be totally honest, I’m disappointed with the serum. I saw so many good reviews and improvements from other people but I really cant tell if the serum did anything for me. I did have bad skin this summer as I have new pigmentation spots to treat but I wanted the serum to target older spots I had. Side by side pictures tell me there was hardly any improvements. the newer pigmentation spots look slightly improved? Im not even sure

Will I repurchase? Honestly I did consider it because perhaps I needed more time with it? however after 8 weeks of daily use and not seeing major improvements, I didn’t want to spend another £52 on it plus shipping. I wont repurchase.

Dr V Inzincable SPF50 Review

hihi everyone, I hope all is well. Today I have another sunscreen try on and review for you. This time I am talking about mineral sunscreen and the Inzincable SPF50 from Dr V which claims to be 100% invisible on dark skin

The Inzincable SPF is described as The world’s first no ‘white cast’ mineral sunscreen for skin of colour. With anti-pigmentation, anti-inflammatory ingredients. No fragrance, essential oils or drying alcohols. Broad Spectrum SPF50 ‘Invisible’ Mineral Suncream. For the face & body, men & women, all ages (2+). Normal/dry/combi/sensitive skin.

Experience

I have been using this sunscreen for a while now and I have had no irritation with it. I use the standard 2 fingers rule when applying all sunscreens

The SPF has a lotion texture and doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. It applies easy and doesn’t pile which I love. It wears well under makeup and doesn’t sting the eyes.

Is this invisible on dark skin? NO! this SPF makes some huge claims but it is simply not 100% cast free on my skin. Its not the WORST cast I have experienced and it looks VERY deceiving in some photos and lighting lol but I can tell there is a visible cast on my skin. I wont be able to leave the house with this, I would definitely have to cover with powder foundation. I also find it difficult to blend around the hairline because it sticks to the hairs on the hairline.

In the photo below, I have tried to point out where you can see the cast where it may not be so obvious because honestly in some lights it looks blended into my skin

Verdict

It is not the worst cast I have experienced from a sunscreen. For a mineral SPF I think its pretty good. The issue is the massive claim of been the world’s first cast free mineral SPF for dark skin which is simply untrue. What I also found was using a small amount of the SPF leaves no cast however that is not a true indication of the product because who uses a very small amount of SPF? not me anyways, I always use the recommended amount to get the full sun protection stated on the product. For most people this is two fingers full and using this amount results in the cast above

Will I repurchase? No and it simply comes down to ease of use. I want a sunscreen I can use and go out the door without having to camouflage it with makeup and I simply cant do that with this product. To be totally honest, I don’t know if I will ever get that from mineral sunscreens which is why I tend to stick to chemical sunscreens.

This product is available on Dr V’s website along with her other offerings for hyperpigmentation. I haven’t used any other product from her range but I have met her once at an event a while back.

Im still very interested in looking for mineral sunscreens this year so my search continues!

catch you later
