Formula & Wear

I’m obsessed with how soft and buttery these glide on. There’s no chalky tug you sometimes get with lip liners. The formula is creamy enough to blend before setting, yet once it sets, it doesn’t budge. The finish is soft, smoother than a traditional lip liner but still pigmented like a proper contour liner should be.

These pencils are buttery yet structured enough to hold a sharp tip for precise application. They glide easily and build nicely for more intensity if you want it.

My one tip: keep a sharpener handy for clean, precise lines, it makes a noticeable difference with these creamy pencils.

The formula is where these pencils really stand out. They are soft and silky, making application effortless, but set quickly enough to prevent feathering. Unlike many long-wear liners, they don’t dry out the lips, and the colour remains true from morning coffee to evening plans.

How I Wear Them:

  • Alone: Gives a soft, semi-matte finish. Perfect for everyday polished lips.
  • With Balm: Adds moisture and shine without compromising longevity. Ideal for dry lips or a glossier look.

How to use the REESON Beauty Highlighter Duo

This highlighter is so easy to use. You can use either the balm or the powder alone, or layer them for a custom finish.

I like to use the Powder first, and then apply the Balm on top to melt in the powder highlighter and give the skin a really diffused glow.

For a more amped up gleam, you can use the balm first and then set it with the powder highlighter. This is a higher shine finish but still super flattering and skin smoothing.

Finally, if you like, you can mix the balm and powder together and apply at once. Have a play.

This is the side I reach for first.

The multi-tip applicator allows you to gently paint through the brows. It gives soft strokes of colour without creating harsh blocks. You can be quite relaxed with it – even slightly rough – and it still looks natural.

It’s perfect for:

  • Filling sparse areas
  • Evening out tone
  • Adding subtle fullness

For anyone who doesn’t want a technical brow routine, this side alone could be enough.

The Dual-Prong Side – Added Dimension

The precision dual-prong tip looks slightly intimidating, but it’s surprisingly forgiving.

It creates finer strokes that add dimension and structure. This is what gives that realistic, slightly more defined effect without tipping into “drawn on” territory.

Used together, the two ends create a layered, believable brow.

I’m always slightly cautious with brow pens that promise precision. Some can feel overly wet or deposit too much pigment too quickly.

This one immediately felt different. The formula isn’t heavy, and it doesn’t overload the brow. It gives you time to build.

The difference is immediate. The completed brow looks fuller, more structured and more polished – but still soft. It doesn’t look overly done. It simply looks like a better version of my natural brow.

What impressed me most is the longevity.

The swatches lasted the entire day without fading or smudging. On the brows, it performs exactly the same way. Once it sets, it stays put.

This is genuinely long-wearing.

Throughout the day, there was:

  • No smudging
  • No patchiness
  • No fading
  • No transfer

It holds shape and colour without feeling stiff or heavy.

Who Is It Best For?

This is ideal if you:

  • Prefer natural-looking brows
  • Don’t want a complicated routine
  • Like subtle dimension rather than bold structure
  • Want long-lasting wear

If you love ultra-sculpted, laminated brows, you may still want to pair it with a strong gel. But for everyday polish, this is excellent.

This is a new addition to the DCYPHER portfolio, so I was keen to try it. Their core product is a full foundation that you can choose both the finish and level of coverage, plus have it tailored to your skin type.

Texture & Finish on the Skin

The texture is one of my favourite things about this product.

It has a beautifully light, hydrating feel that spreads effortlessly over the skin. It doesn’t feel heavy, greasy or silicone-y. Instead, it melts in quickly and leaves the skin feeling comfortable and fresh.

The finish is:

  • Sheer but beautifying
  • Softly radiant rather than shimmery
  • Gently blurring, especially around pores and texture
  • Very natural and skin-like

This is glow that looks like healthy skin, not makeup sitting on top.

Coverage: Sheer but Effective

Coverage is very sheer, but it still makes a visible difference.

It subtly:

  • Evens out the complexion
  • Takes down redness
  • Adds brightness and life to the skin

This is not about covering everything, it’s about improving how skin looks overall. Perfect for days when you want your skin to look better, but not “made up”.

The Custom Colour Match: Does It Work?

Yes, and surprisingly well.

The scanning process is quick and easy, and the resulting shade match is excellent. Because it’s a sheer tint, it’s also very forgiving, but the fact that it’s custom-made means:
