Sephora Collection 8H Colorful Lip Liner Review & Swatches

If you’re on the hunt for an affordable lip liner that actually performs, this one is seriously worth a look. I’ve been testing out the Sephora Collection 8H Colorful Lip Liners, and I have to say, they’ve really impressed me – especially considering the price point.

I have five key shades to show you, along with swatches and my full review.

What is Sephora Collection 8H Colorful Lip Liner?

What is Sephora Collection 8H Colorful Lip Liner?
What is Sephora Collection 8H Colorful Lip Liner?

This is a long-wear lip liner designed to deliver up to 8 hours of transfer-resistant colour while helping you define, shape and contour the lips.

The formula promises:

  • Long-lasting, transfer-resistant wear
  • Smooth, creamy application
  • Precise definition without dragging
  • A wide shade range for all lip looks
  • At £10.99, it sits firmly in that sweet spot of being affordable but still feeling like a high-performing product plus you can get it for 15% off with code REALLYREESPH here*

Key Ingredients

While this isn’t marketed as a skincare-heavy formula, the texture tells you a lot about how it performs.

  • A balanced wax-based structure – gives that slight grip and cling to the lips
  • Emollient components – allow for smooth glide without skipping
  • Lightweight film-formers – help with that transfer-resistant, long-wear finish

What stands out most is the texture balance. It’s creamy, but not overly soft, which is key for precision.

Shades & Swatches

I have five of the key shades to show you (see photos and swatches below).

My standout shade:

  • 02 Soft Suede – the perfect neutral for a softly sculpted, contoured lip on my skin tone. It’s one of those “your lips but better” shades that just works with everything.

My Review of Sephora Collection 8H Colorful Lip Liner

Texture & Application

This is where these liners really shine. The formula is creamy, but not too soft, which is actually quite rare at this price point. You get enough slip to apply comfortably, but it still holds its shape beautifully, so you can properly sculpt and define the lips.

There’s no dragging and no crumbling, and crucially, no smudging.

Blendability

You’ve got flexibility here. You can keep it crisp and defined for a structured lip look, or blend it out for something softer and more diffused. It blends easily without disappearing, which is exactly what you want from a liner like this.

Staying Power

This really surprised me. The slightly waxy grip in the formula means it clings to the lips really well. It genuinely feels like it anchors itself in place.

I tested it with my REESON Beauty Glossing Balm in Dewy Rose, which is very emollient (packed with ceramides, squalane and shea butter), and the liner still held on impressively well. That’s not easy as glossy, nourishing formulas usually break down lip liner quickly, but this stayed put.

Shade Range

There’s a really good selection of shades, covering:

  • Neutrals
  • Pinks
  • Deeper tones

From what I’ve tried so far, the tones feel wearable and well thought-out.

Value for Money

At £10.99, this is already a strong value.

But with 15% off using code REALLYREESPH, you’re bringing it down to under £10, which makes it exceptional. This is one of those products that feels like it should cost more than it does.

Final Thoughts

These are genuinely great lip liners.

You’re getting:

  • A beautifully balanced creamy formula
  • Excellent staying power
  • Strong performance even under gloss
  • A flattering shade range
  • And a very accessible price point

If you’re looking for a reliable, everyday lip liner that can handle both structured and softer looks, this is an easy recommendation.

FAQs: Sephora Collection 8H Colorful Lip Liner

Is the Sephora Collection 8H Colorful Lip Liner long-lasting?

Yes, the Sephora Collection 8H Colorful Lip Liner is designed to last up to 8 hours. In testing, it wears very well throughout the day and maintains definition even when layered with gloss, thanks to its slightly waxy, grip-enhancing formula.

Is the Sephora lip liner transfer-proof?

It is marketed as transfer-proof, and while no lip liner is completely budge-proof, this one holds up impressively well. It resists smudging and fading, and stays in place even when paired with more emollient lip products like gloss or balm.

Is the Sephora Collection lip liner creamy or dry?

The formula is creamy but not too soft. It glides onto the lips without dragging, while still being firm enough to keep a precise shape for lip contouring and definition.

Can you blend the Sephora lip liner?

Yes, this lip liner blends really well. You can either keep a sharp, defined line or softly diffuse the edges for a more natural, blurred lip look without the product disappearing.

What is the best shade in the Sephora Collection lip liner range?

A standout shade is 02 Soft Suede, which works beautifully as a neutral contour shade for many skin tones. It gives that “your lips but better” effect and pairs easily with a wide range of lip colours.

How do you use lip liner for a natural look?

For a natural look:
Lightly outline your lips following your natural shape
Slightly overline only where needed (usually the cupid’s bow or centre of the lower lip)
Blend the edges inward
Add a balm or gloss on top
This creates a softly defined, fuller-looking lip without harsh lines.

Is this a good lip liner for overlining?

Yes, because of its balance of creaminess and structure, it’s ideal for overlining. It allows you to sculpt the lips precisely without the product slipping or smudging too easily.

How does it compare to high-end lip liners?

This formula competes really well with more expensive options. It offers similar precision, blendability and wear time to premium lip liners, making it a great budget-friendly alternative.

Another brilliant lip liner I love to recommend are the ones from Hildun Beauty. Check out Hildun Beauty Silk to Set Longwear Lip Pencil Review & Swatches for more info.

Half Magic Beauty UK Launch at Sephora: Review, Swatches & Must-Have Picks

If you love bold, playful makeup with serious sparkle, the arrival of Half Magic Beauty in the UK is very good news. The brand has officially landed at Sephora UK, and it’s an exclusive launch worth getting excited about.

Known for its high-impact glitter, duo chrome finishes and unapologetically fun aesthetic, Half Magic sits firmly in the “makeup as self-expression” category. Think festival energy, party glam, and a little bit of chaos, in the best way.

I’ve been playing with a selection of products, so here’s everything you need to know, including my honest thoughts, swatches, and what I’d actually recommend buying.

What is Half Magic Beauty? (And Why Is Everyone Talking About It?)

Half Magic Beauty UK Launch at Sephora: Review, Swatches & Must-Have Picks
Half Magic Beauty UK Launch at Sephora

Half Magic Beauty was co-founded by Donni Davy, the Emmy-winning makeup artist behind the hit HBO series Euphoria (which I am ashamed to say, I have never seen!). I think maybe I’ll put it on my list.

However, if you’ve ever saved a makeup look from Euphoria, chances are it was her work that was all about taking makeup a more expressive, artistic space.

Half Magic was born directly from that movement. In fact, the brand was created off the back of the global beauty phenomenon sparked by Euphoria and its fans.

The name “Half Magic” refers to the idea that the products are only part of the story, the other half is you.

The Vibe: Playful, Sparkly, Slightly Chaotic (In a Good Way)

This is not a “no-makeup makeup” brand.

Half Magic is all about:

  • Glitter, shimmer and multidimensional finishes
  • Bold colour and duochrome textures
  • Experimental, expressive looks

It sits firmly in that party / festival / creative makeup space and with formulas that are designed to be usable and not intimidating.

I’ve tried a mix of eye, lip and glitter products. Here’s a breakdown of each one:

Glitterpuck Pressed Glitter (Shade: Glimmer Pop)*

This is such a standout if you love sparkle. The texture is what really surprised me. It has an almost wet-feel finish rather than a chunky glitter, which makes it much easier to apply and wear. It gives that glossy, editorial sparkle without feeling gritty.

Half Magic Beauty UK: Glitterpuck in Glimmer Pill
Half Magic Beauty UK: Glitterpuck in Glimmer Pill

The shade Glimmer Pop* is gorgeous and catches the light beautifully. I think this will look amazing on the eyes for nights out or parties. I haven’t tried this yet as I have just started wearing contact lenses and I am just being a bit cautious with anything that I don’t usually use around the eyes.

Eyeshadow Single (Shade: Blushing Lizard)*

This shade instantly gave me nostalgia. It really reminds me of MAC Club, which was actually my first ever MAC eyeshadow.

Half Magic Beauty UK: Single Eyeshadow in Blushing Lizard
Half Magic Beauty UK: Single Eyeshadow in Blushing Lizard
Half Magic Beauty UK: Single Eyeshadow in Blushing Lizard
Half Magic Beauty UK: Single Eyeshadow in Blushing Lizard

Blushing Lizard* has that same duo chrome shift, but I’d say it’s slightly softer and more wearable. It’s easier to throw on for everyday looks while still giving that multi-dimensional finish.

Half Magic Beauty UK: Single Eyeshadow in Blushing Lizard Swatch
Half Magic Beauty UK: Single Eyeshadow in Blushing Lizard Swatch

It’s one of those shades that looks like you’ve put in more effort than you actually have.

Glitterpill Eye Paint + Eyeliner (Shade: Microcosm)

This is a really fun product if you like experimenting. It works as both a liner and an eye paint, and the finish is super sparkly and reflective. Perfect for adding a pop of sparkle either as a graphic liner or layered over shadow.

Half Magic Beauty UK: Glitter Pill in Microcosm
Half Magic Beauty UK: Glitter Pill in Microcosm

Definitely more of a creative/occasion product than everyday, but that’s kind of the whole point of the brand.

Magic Drip Glitter Lip Gloss (Shade: Y2K Cherub)

If you like a glitter gloss, this is a nice comfortable formula. The glitter is fine and flattering rather than overwhelming.

Half Magic Beauty UK: Magic Drip Lip Gloss in Y2K Cherub
Half Magic Beauty UK: Magic Drip Lip Gloss in Y2K Cherub

That said, the shade Y2K Cherub is a little too pale for me personally. I think it would work better either layered over a deeper lip liner or on lighter lip tones.

Sculptitude Dual-Ended Lip Liner (Shade: Ur My Taupe / Badassery Parade)

This is my favourite product from everything I tried.

Half Magic Beauty UK: Sculptitude Lipliner in Ur My Taupe / Badassery Parade
Half Magic Beauty UK: Sculptitude Lipliner in Ur My Taupe / Badassery Parade

The Ur My Taupe* side is perfect for contouring the lips. It adds definition while still looking natural. It blends beautifully and is really easy to work with.

Half Magic Beauty UK: Sculptitude Lipliner in Ur My Taupe
Half Magic Beauty UK: Sculptitude Lipliner in Ur My Taupe

I’ve been wearing it with my REESON Glossing Balm in Dewy Rose, and it gives such a full, volumised lip look. I am wearing that combo in this video:

The formula is long-lasting and glides on really smoothly.

The only downside for me is that Badassery Parade is too dark for how I like to wear lip liner, so I won’t get much use out of that side.

Half Magic Beauty UK: Sculptitude Lipliner in Ur My Taupe / Badassery Parade Swatches
Half Magic Beauty UK: Sculptitude Lipliner in Ur My Taupe / Badassery Parade Swatches

However, the duo in Emo Rose / Prancing Queen* looks much more up my street. Glad to have this one though for Ur My Taupe and the stylo has gone straight in my makeup bag. Maybe I can use the other end on my eyes?

Is Half Magic Beauty Worth It?

If you love sparkle, shine and playful makeup, this brand is a lot of fun. It’s not about everyday minimal makeup, It’s about experimenting, going out, and embracing a more bold, glittery aesthetic.

My Top Picks:

  • Sculptitude Lip Liner (especially for lip contouring)
  • Glitterpuck Pressed Glitter in Glimmer Pop
  • Eyeshadow Single in Blushing Lizard

Final Thoughts

Overall, this is a really fun, expressive collection that feels perfect for parties, nights out, and anyone who loves a bit of sparkle. There are some genuinely lovely formulas here, especially the lip liner, and even the more experimental products feel wearable with a little creativity.

If you’ve been waiting for something a bit different to land in the UK beauty space, this is definitely one to check out.

KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon Review & Swatches

If you love a sheeny lip but prefer the ease and precision of a lipstick or pencil, the KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon is a really interesting product to discover. It’s designed to give lips a prismatic, light-reflective finish while still feeling comfortable and easy to apply, thanks to the crayon format.

I have all the shades here to show you, along with swatches, and they really do have a unique effect on the lips. The finish is reflective and dimensional but still surprisingly wearable.

What is KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon?

What is KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon?
What is KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon?

The KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon is a multidimensional lip crayon that combines pigment with a prismatic sheen to catch the light and add dimension to the lips.

It sits somewhere between a lipstick and a balm in terms of texture. The formula glides on smoothly and feels balmy and comfortable, while still delivering noticeable colour and soft shine.

The crayon format also makes application really simple. You can outline the lips with the tip and then quickly fill in the colour without needing a separate liner.

KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon Formula

One of the things that really stands out about the KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon is the texture. It feels smooth and lightweight on the lips and doesn’t have that heavy metallic feel that some shimmer lip products can have.

Key things I noticed while testing it:

  • Smooth glide-on formula
  • Comfortable, balmy texture
  • Light-reflective finish rather than chunky shimmer
  • Easy crayon application
  • Buildable colour

The reflective particles are very fine, so instead of looking glittery or frosty, they create a dimensional shine that catches the light beautifully.

KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon Shades & Swatches

There are four shades available in the KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon range, each with its own undertone but the same reflective prismatic finish.

KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon Shades

The colours are designed to work in different ways depending on how you apply them. You can wear them fully opaque for a more statement metallic lip, or lightly blended for a softer glow.

KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon Swatches

Here are the swatches of all the shades so you can see the reflective finish and undertones.

KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon Swatches

How to Wear KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon

Because the KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon has that reflective quality, you can play with it in a few different ways.

You can:

  • Wear it alone for a glossy prismatic lip
  • Pair it with a lip liner for more structure
  • Tap a little into the centre of the lips over another lipstick for extra dimension

The light-catching finish makes it particularly nice for adding fullness to the lips.

My Review of KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon

I think the KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon is a really fun lip product if you like finishes that play with light and dimension.

The things I like most are the comfort of the formula and how easy the crayon format is to use. It’s also quite refreshing to see a reflective lip that feels modern rather than overly metallic.

If you enjoy lip products that add shine and dimension but still feel lightweight and easy to apply, this is definitely one to try.

Pros

  • Comfortable, smooth formula
  • Easy crayon application
  • Reflective, dimensional finish
  • Buildable colour

Cons

  • If you prefer completely matte lips, this won’t be for you

Who Will Love KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon?

I think the KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon will appeal most to people who love a bit of light and dimension on the lips rather than a completely flat finish. It’s one of those formulas that feels quite modern. It is reflective and shiny, but still really easy to wear.

If You Love Glow Over Matte

If you’re someone who naturally gravitates towards glossy or luminous lip products, I think you’ll really enjoy this. The prismatic finish catches the light beautifully and gives the lips a fuller, more dimensional look without feeling glittery or over the top.

If You Like Quick, Easy Lip Products

The crayon format makes the KJH Brand Prism Lite Lip Crayon really fuss-free. You can outline the lips with the tip and then just fill them in, so it’s perfect for throwing in your bag and applying on the go.

If You Enjoy Something a Bit Different

If you like lip products that feel a little more interesting than a standard lipstick, this is a really nice option. The reflective finish adds that extra dimension that can make the lips look slightly plumper and more defined.

If You Like Playing With Lip Looks

These are also quite fun if you enjoy experimenting with makeup. You can wear them fully opaque, blend them out for a softer sheen, or even add a lighter shade in the centre of the lips to create a subtle halo effect.

My Review of Hildun Beauty Silk to Set Longwear Lip Pencil

Hildun Beauty Silk to Set Longwear Lip Pencil Review
Hildun Beauty Silk to Set Longwear Lip Pencil Review

Formula & Wear

I’m obsessed with how soft and buttery these glide on. There’s no chalky tug you sometimes get with lip liners. The formula is creamy enough to blend before setting, yet once it sets, it doesn’t budge. The finish is soft, smoother than a traditional lip liner but still pigmented like a proper contour liner should be.

These pencils are buttery yet structured enough to hold a sharp tip for precise application. They glide easily and build nicely for more intensity if you want it.

My one tip: keep a sharpener handy for clean, precise lines, it makes a noticeable difference with these creamy pencils.

The formula is where these pencils really stand out. They are soft and silky, making application effortless, but set quickly enough to prevent feathering. Unlike many long-wear liners, they don’t dry out the lips, and the colour remains true from morning coffee to evening plans.

How I Wear Them:

  • Alone: Gives a soft, semi-matte finish. Perfect for everyday polished lips.
  • With Balm: Adds moisture and shine without compromising longevity. Ideal for dry lips or a glossier look.

My favourite shade is Hayley because it makes such a gorgeous natural looking lip contour and pairs beautifully with my REESON Glossing Balm in Dewy Rose*.

Final Thoughts

The Hildun Beauty Silk to Set Lip Pencils are a lovely, reliable option for anyone looking for creamy, long-lasting liners that don’t dry out the lips. They’re versatile enough for everyday use and polished enough to complement a layered look with balm or lipstick. Hayley is my current obsession and I find that my lips look fuller and I generally just look more put together when I wear it. It has earned a permanent place in my makeup bag along with the Hildun sharpener.

What Are byfrow Pigment Pencils?

What are byfrow Pigment Pencils?
What are byfrow Pigment Pencils?

Think of these as your do-it-all lip sculpting pencils. They are creamy, and blendable and the shades are housed in wooden pencils with chic aluminium caps.

The formula is enriched with Vitamin E and plant-based waxes, which gives them that smooth glide without tipping into overly slippy territory. They’re also vegan, dermatologically tested, and created for multi-use across lips, cheeks, and even faux freckles.

  • Creamy and comfortable
  • Blendable and buildable
  • Richly pigmented precise colour pay off
  • Can be blended onto the cheeks, eyes, or stippled as faux freckles
  • Easy to use

My Review of the byfrow Pigment Pencils

My Review of byfrow Pigment Pencils
My Review of byfrow Pigment Pencils

I am in my lip pencil era so I was delighted to get to try out these brand new pencils from Victoria.

Formula & Performance

The texture is soft and creamy, but with enough grip to define the lips cleanly. They’re nice and easy to blend, making them great for full-lip looks or blurred edges.

Pigmentation:
Buildable, but strong from the first swipe. The deeper shades (Dark Roast, Cherry Berry) are intensely pigmented.

Longevity:
They last comfortably through drinks and light snacking. For heavier meals, some touch-up is needed, which is pretty normal for creamy pencils.

Comfort:
The texture is not drying, even worn all over the lips, and they feel flexible and lightweight.

Sharpening:
Use a high-quality sharpener. The sustainable wood is sturdy and sharpens cleanly.

Ingredients & Skin Feel

Key points:

  • Vitamin E adds smoothness and helps prevent that tight, waxy lip-liner feel.
  • Plant-based waxes create the creamy glide.
  • Vegan & dermatologically tested – worth noting for sensitive skin types.
  • Sustainable wood + aluminium cap for a more eco-conscious makeup bag.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Beautifully curated shade range
  • Creamy but precise
  • Vegan and sustainably packaged
  • Multi-use (lips, cheeks, eyes, freckles)
  • Blendable and beginner-friendly
  • Great for shaping and sculpting

Cons

  • Some shades not suitable for eyes in specific regions
  • Requires a sharpener (no twist-up option)

How to Use byfrow Pigment Pencils

  • For Definition & Overlining

Start at the cupid’s bow and draw slightly above your natural lip line. The creamy texture makes this very forgiving.

  • As a Full Lip Colour

Shade in the entire lip for that blurred, matte-but-not-dry finish. Works incredibly well with a balm over top.

  • As Blush

Warm the pencil on the back of your hand and tap onto cheeks. Toasted Rose and Pink Sorbet are gorgeous for this.

  • Faux Freckles

Sharpen to a fine point, dot lightly, then tap with fingers to soften.

  • With Lip Gloss or Balm

byfrow recommends pairing with The Lip Companion, which gives that plump, glossy finish over your sculpted base.

Comparisons

If you’re familiar with other multi-use or sculpting pencils, here’s where the byfrow Pigment Pencils sit:

  • Creamier and more blendable than traditional wooden lip liners
  • Not as slippy as chubby crayons
  • A hybrid between a precision liner and a creamy colour stick

Where to buy them

The byfrow Pigment Pencils are £18 each and available now via the link below:

Final Verdict

The byfrow Pigment Pencils are super versatile, flattering, and easy-to-use. The shades are wearable without being boring, the formula is creamy without being messy, and the multi-use element makes them perfect for a streamlined makeup bag.

My top picks?

Chai Latte, Toasted Rose, and Dark Roast, but honestly, they’re all really lovely.

If you’re looking for a sculpting pencil that feels modern, minimal, and elevated… these deserve a very high spot on your wishlist.

FAQs

Are byfrow Pigment Pencils vegan?

Yes, they vegan and also dermatologically tested.

Can I use them as blush?

Yes! They blend beautifully on the cheeks.

Do they need sharpening?

Yes, any high-quality cosmetic sharpener works.

Is the byfrow Pigment Pencil safe for eyes?

Yes, the byfrow Pigment Pencil works nicely on the eyes, however, it is worth noting that shades Cherry Berry, Baked Cinnamon, Pink Sorbet & Toasted Rose are not compliant for eyes in the US.

Which shade to choose

If you want a natural lip line, choose a shade compliments your natural lip tone. If you are looking for a statement colour, go for Dark Roast or Cherry Berry and fill in the whole lip.
