EAU DE PARFUM 50 ML ♀ (WOMAN) UNICORNO

A HEAD NOTE – MORNING

Thanks to carefully selected components the aroma meets the expectations of elegant and determined women. The first chord of the composition – head note – appears immediately after opening the perfume bottle. This is a business card, felt most intensely in the initial phase. The head note was developed based on a refreshing scent of orange blossom. Applied in the morning it gives a feeling of lightness, perfect for the beginning of a new day.

After the morning note of lightness another aroma activates, which is the quintessence of the smell. A fresh, intense ginger extract, contained in Unicorno scented water, provides a pleasant refreshment. It will provide an extra dose of energy for the rest of the day.

A BASE NOTE – EVENING

A base note can be compared to the background in an image, posing a context and emphasizing the nature of the other elements. The aroma should be more intensive than those used in other fragrance tonnes. The finesse of Unicorno smell is evidenced by the fact that it managed to combine the lightness of orange with the intense scent of sandalwood. The result is a stylish combination of freshness and elegance.

DURABILITY AND MODERN DESIGN

Unicorno perfumed water is a fragrance which stays on the skin for up to 12 hours. The durability of the perfumes is provided by high-quality essential oils. The carefully composed Unicorno scent interacts with the modern design of the package, based on themes drawn from the Italian world of fashion. The bottle with its simple, harmonious shapes gives the product elegance and chic.

L’Occitane Almond Collection

L'Occitane Almond

L’Occitane Almond

The L’Occitane Almond Collection is one of my favourites – it’s ultra nourishing and so prettily scented. Almond Oil Shower Gel has so many awards I’m surprised it hasn’t found an agent and left for Las Vegas. So, a little upcoming news for the range – line extensions aren’t usually that noteworthy but one of the new items is Lighter Legs (£20) which I’m certainly interested in.

I once got very, very told off by a PR for making fun of a ‘heavy legs’ gel they had in their range – I’d never heard of heavy legs so I really didn’t understand but ever since then, I’ve made sure I’m more educated about it because tired and aching legs really aren’t funny. If you’re in the first flush of youth then tired and achy legs probably won’t have happened at all, but as you get along in life all sorts of aches and pains pop up that you hadn’t factored in. In France, ‘heavy legs’ is much more of a thing than it is here which isn’t to say that we don’t get achy and fatigued limbs, but more that we don’t really factor in treating them with non medical products. While L’Occitane Almond Collection Lighter Legs isn’t a medical treatment, the inclusion of menthol and peppermint essential oil certainly will refresh the sensation (although, of course, not deal with the cause) of tiredness in feet and legs. In fact, having used this kind of product (and my dad, who at 78 goes skipping off to Egypt every five minutes swears by them) it’s just a lovely, hot weather fatigue kind of relief. And if your limbs feel fresher, they also feel lighter.

I’m expecting L’Occitane Almond Collection Lighter Legs to get as many awards as Almond Oil Shower Gel when it launches in May. And if you’re wondering why the ballet book in the picture, it’s because the new products have been put to the test by members of the Royal Ballet – their top picks are going to appear as a collection, also in May. It’s tu-tu exciting!

MAC Nutcracker Sweet Collection Picks

MAC Nutcracker Sweet Collection

The MAC Nutcracker Sweet collection launched in the UK whilst I was in New York and as the U.S gets the latest launches a week before we do, the collection had all but sold out in both locations before I had a chance to snag a few of the key products (the face kits were the things dreams are made of). I was however fortunate enough to receive two of the new MAC Nutcracker Sweet lipsticks and one of the best-selling MAC Khol pencils too – perfect for creating a subdued yet polished festive look, be it for a party, work or a stroll around the local supermarket (I really do live my best life, don’t I?).

MAC Nutcracker Sweet Collection

The first thing that I noticed and inevitably want to mention about the MAC Nutcracker Sweet collection is the packaging. I rather like that MAC have side stepped the traditional festive and often garish colours associated with the season, and settled on a refined palette of bright pink, plum and hints of gold. It’s modern, quirky, unexpected and frankly perfectly presented to create a memorable gift – I’m not here to judge if that person happens to be yourself. Continue reading
