Avora Immersive Experience

Hello hello everyone!

I first saw the experience about 2-3 years ago on my fyp and its always been on my mind, this year for Yasmin birthday I finally decided to do it!

Without giving too much away, the Avora immersive experience is one of the popular experiences in London.  The concept is simple: you are a top research scientist and you have been invited to a trip to Avora, to learn about the planet and the people. The experience comes with 3 drinks and these can be with or without alcohol. They will ask your preference at the door. And please remember to bring your ID! Don’t let the outside throw you off! I legit thought I was in the wrong place

This was my first immersive experience and whilst I didn’t know what to expect I was really excited. The actors were phenomenal- they really get into character and its very interactive- your willingness to also get into it with the actors and your group will make your experience more enjoyable. I was called up to be the doctor who brought the music- LMAO!

Avora is a beautiful planet filled with very curious Avorians. You learn about them, explore their world and ‘drink to survive’

My overall experience is really positive. The actors were great! The experience starts pretty much once you book because you will receive an NDA to sign prior to your experience! The drinks were really good ( strong for me haha) and you get given a special spacesuit to complete your experience! It very much gave Avatar vibes.  I highly recommend it.

My only con was that I wish there was more of Avora to explore. In total we went into 3 rooms with a new drink in each room but I wish there were 5 rooms/areas to explore with the drinks more spaced out.  The tickets are kinda pricey £49.50 ( peak time) but think of it as paying for the drinks with a show. I think tickets are slightly cheaper during the week.

We saw Alcatraz next door- I think they are from the same company, another popular immersive experience- I’m not quite sure if I want to do that one.

Will you make accept the call and brave the journey into Avora?

Catch you later

Solo Diaries: Peter Harrison Planetarium & Lunch

Hey hey everyone, I hope all is well.

Today’s post will be the start of my new series: solo diaries! This year, I set myself a goal to do 2 solo outings and so far I have crossed one of these off! Actually, I did 2 things in 1 outing but it still counts as 1 haha.

Dear diary

For my first solo outing, I went to the Peter Harrison Planetarium which has been on my list for so long! This place reminds me of Raj from Bang Bang Theory lmao. I went for the meet the neighbours show, a show about our solar system. It was much too short but very interesting, and I think I will go back for the sky tonight show.

So how did I feel doing this? I felt a bit awkward at first but not lonely but this feeling quickly disappeared as I reminded myself why I was doing this. After the show I went for a solo lunch at Miller and Carter, the lunch set menu is amazing btw! 3 courses including a steak for £23! I thought lunch would be a bit more of a challenge but girl I never thought I would enjoy it so much. I enjoyed my steak, watched a show, then some random man walked by and said hello? LOL. I enjoyed it so much Ive booked another solo lunch at a place that’s been on my list for at least 4 years!

Tbh even though I set these goals for myself at the start of the year I never really took steps to doing them. I am used to going out alone mostly for makeup windowing shopping etc but not to do an actual activity( my last solo activity was 2023? I think!) anyway what prompted me to book this was Tracee Ellis Ross talking about her solo travel experiences. It just reminded me of my first solo trip years ago which lead to so many wonderful experiences and meeting lovely people, I don’t know what happened along the road for me to loose that and become dependent on going out with friends. Anyways I glad Tracee’s video came on my fyp because it’s reignited my passion for solo experiences again.

The planetarium was great, and it seemed really popular for families and kids. You then after Greenwich Park right outside so you can easily have a walk or picnic afterwards. Parking is abundant close and very cheap. Well, cheaper than what I thought it would be!

Im really glad I did this and looking forward to my next solo outings!  As much as I love planning things with friends, it was so freeing to juts decided what I want to do and went and simply GO.  I can finally start to cross items of my list and not feel guilty adding new places lool.

Love always

Tenerife in 3 Days

I finally went to Tenerife and it was awesome! And in this post I will be sharing some activities to do and the amazing hotel we stayed in.

Before we begin I want to thank my friends again for planning this trip as my birthday surprise! I wasn’t told the destination until we got to the boarding gates lol and they sorted out everything! Diane & Miriam thank you girls again! And my surprise set up was amazing!

Tenerife has a reputation for been a booze filled getaway but its totally possible to do the exact opposite. If this is your vibe stay tuned

Hotel

We stayed in the beautiful Green Garden Eco Hotel. Its in an excellent location ( Playas las Americas) not too far from the beach but I wont recommend walking in that heat. The hotel has a lot of amenities including a free shuttle bus to Siam water park. The staff are excellent and made our stay pleasurable! They were so patient with us wanting to practice our Spanish with them too lool( Duolingo streak society anyone? lol). Plus they had a mini arcade on site and we LOVED it. who knew I was so good at shooting loool. There’s a mini market on site too. Our family villa was huge and had a little garden area which we turned into our photoshoot studio LOOL

Activities

Whale & Dolphin Watching with White Tenerife tour guide company- Tenerife is the home of the pilot whales because of the excellent quality of water. From April to September, we were informed Dolphins migrate to the area too. We saw a lot of whales and it was beautiful and we were extremely lucky to see Dolphins too! I have always wanted to see animals in the wild natural habit and seeing them was a bucket list moment for me

Stargazing with Tenerife stars tour guide company- I didn’t know Tenerife was known for this but it is a very popular activity there. The whole trip starts off just before sunset so you stop at a crater for amazing sunset views over the nearby islands before heading to the national park to wait for dark and the stars illuminate the skies. Guys we saw Starlink which looked awesome in the sky but even better we saw shooting stars! Living in a city like London, you forget how light polluted our night sky is so seeing the stars in their numbers so clearly was so amazing. I will give iPhone props here because the pictures turned out great ( its still a cult I refuse to join). Our guide was so funny but knowledgeable

Eating & drinks

It was a packed trip so we didn’t eat out much but I definitely recommend Almar, rooftop restaurant with amazing sunset views! The food and drinks were amazing and I loved my birthday dessert!

So a quick getaway in Tenerife without booze filled parties? Yes its definitely possible. Overall thoughts for Tenerife

  • Taxis are cheaper than ubers
  • Sunscreen is needed of course
  • 100% worth it! GO FOR IT

It was a quick trip, but my looks were still on point! Always
