How to use it

“Pinpoint Concealing is all about precise camouflage – so that the skin in-between can be less heavily made up and the skin overall still looks natural .. It’s a trick I’ve used time and time again.”

Scribble softly over, on and around the small area you wish to micro camouflage, and then blend, using fingertips (or a small brush – the REESON No. 2 is perfect) to buff the coverage over the area and make sure the edges of the concealer are not visible.

As a self-proclaimed concealer junkie, I just had to get my hands on this new launch. Lisa’s expertise and luxurious approach to makeup are always on my radar, so I really wanted to know if this little pencil is the holy grail we’ve been waiting for.

Packaging and First Impressions:

As with all of Lisa’s products, the Pinpoint Concealer Micro Correcting Pencil exudes luxury. It’s sleek, slim, and the fine tip makes it incredibly precise. The pencil is easy to handle, and you really feel like you’re getting a premium product. It’s a perfect size for on-the-go use too, which makes it ideal for quick touch-ups throughout the day.

The Formula:

The texture of this concealer pencil is great. It has a creamy yet lightweight formula that glides on without tugging. It feels very comfortable on the skin, to the point where I forget I have applied it. It has great coverage and it’s buildable, so you can adjust it depending on how much coverage you need.

It comes in a variety of shades, so there’s definitely a match for most skin tones. I chose Shade 3, which I think looks the most imperceptible on my skin.

For me, what really stands out is its ability to blend seamlessly into the skin. It doesn’t settle into fine lines or cause dryness, which makes it an excellent choice for both blemishes and under-eye areas.

Precision:

The standout feature of this concealer is undoubtedly the micro tip. It’s incredibly fine, which allows for precise application to target small areas such as blemishes, redness, and dark spots. This makes it ideal for creating a more flawless finish without having to blanket-apply product, and build up unnecessary layers.

I’ve used it under my eyes, on any areas of redness and on my pigmentation, and I find that it allows me to subtly correct my complexion without looking like I am wearing any makeup at all. I find it more effective on redness than on my dark spots, but I can build it up on the pigmentation to get a better result.

If you like the look of natural skin texture, but just want to take down any more noticeable imperfections, this will be the product for you.

Application:

The micro-point of the pencil is key here. It’s precise—like, ridiculously precise—and that makes it absolutely perfect for targeting tiny imperfections, blemishes, and even the tricky corners of your nose or under-eye area. If you’re looking for pinpoint accuracy to cover imperfections, this is a game changer.

For under eyes it’s great because you can hit right where any darkness is, and softly blend it out, which means you create the illusion of brighter, awake eyes without the look of makeup.

Longevity:

As expected with Lisa Eldridge’s formulas, the performance here is impressive. Once applied, the concealer stays put and doesn’t crease or fade. It just stays where you put it, which is exactly what you want from a product designed for precision.

Value:

At £27 for 0.04g of product, this isn’t the most affordable concealer, but it’s a solid investment for those who value high-performance, precision products. It isn’t ideal for larger areas, but that’s kind of the point of it. It’s about subtle correction rather than blanket covering.

Final thoughts:

If you’re on the hunt for a concealer pencil that’s precise, blendable, and perfect for pinpointing blemishes and imperfections, Lisa Eldridge Pinpoint Concealer Micro Correcting Pencil is a must-try. It’s versatile, buildable, and long-lasting.

My Review

The Ordinary Serum Foundation Review
The Ordinary Serum Foundation Review

I haven’t used The Ordinary Serum Foundation in years, but it is a nice light and dewy foundation that is well suited to drier skin types.

I really liked the finish of this foundation. It gives a decent coverage considering how light the texture is and it gives the skin a lovely, juicy look.

It’s great for dry skin, although you may want to set it with powder if you have combination or oily skin. This foundation is so affordable. I think it was £5.70 when it first launched, and the relaunch price is £6.40, so it has barely gone up since it launched. You can always trust The Ordinary and Deciem for fair pricing.

If you’re interested in checking out a newer foundation launch, I have been loving the one from Anastasia. For more information on that, read: Anastasia Beverly Hills Impeccable Blurring Second Skin Matte Foundation Review & Swatches.

When is The Ordinary Serum Foundation available in 2025?

There will be a limited drop on 21st February 2025. It will be available for £6.40 via the link below:

Naturium Vitamin C Complex Serum Review

hey hey people! I hope all is well with you.

Today’s post just highlights the importance of 2nd chances and why we should be giving people and products (lol) one * within reason lol

Today I will be reviewing the vit c serum from Naturium. This came in the Spacenk 2024 beauty advent calender

Let’s begin

This is a vit c complex serum which is formulated with highly stabilized l-ascorbic acid vitamin C complex, sodium ascorbyl phosphate and a bioactive fruit blend that helps defend skin from environmental stressors, promoting healthier-looking skin ( from website)

I started using this on 22nd Dec and run out of it on the 2nd of Feb so it lasted 6 weeks. I mainly used it in my am routine but also a few times in my pm routine. I experienced no irritation with it.

Experience

This is a lightweight serum that feels hydrating on the skin. I really like that it sinks into the skin with ease and doesn’t have any stinging sensations you can get with vit c serums. The brand directs users to use a pea sized amount but I have to tell you I used more than that- 2 to 3 pumps over my face neck and chest then hands with whatever was left

Performance? yes it delivers! I love vit c serums because they work to brighten the skin whilst protecting against environmental aggressors! This serum feels nice on the skin and a pleasure to use. After 2 weeks of use, my skin was glowing and overall my complexion just looks healthier! The serum is a combo of different types of vitamin c: ascorbic acid & SAP and fruit blends also known to have vit c. It also has aloe vera leaf juice which I have come to love for its hydrating properties esp for my hair! Look at my skin!

Verdict

oh how I miss vit c serums! I’ve been using the Paula’s Choice super antioxidant serum for a while and I really enjoyed it but I wanted to use Vit c serums again! This serum just reminded me why Vit c is the gold standard for skin brightening and a glowing complexion. The serum is well packaged to protect against the unstable nature of pure vit c, so it didn’t oxidize in the time I was using it.

I’ve used my fair share of vit c serums in the past and I can say this is up there with my favorite ones! I’m genuinely surprised by this product because I HAD written off Naturium as a brand! I have previously tried 3 of their most popular best selling products and they were so disappointing so I thought to never try the brand again. With this coming in the advent calendar I had no choice but to give it a 2nd chance and I’m really glad I did! I’m thinking of trying their peptide serum now ( even though I HATE their peptide eye cream lol) because of this.

I highly recommend this and will purchase this again!

the serum is available from Boots or Spacenk

Naturium Vitamin C Complex Cleanser Review

I am always excited to try newness from skincare brand Naturium and as a cleanser superfan, I had high hopes for this one. Here’s what you need to know about the Naturium Vitamin C Complex Cleanser.

What is Naturium Vitamin C Complex Cleanser?

What is Naturium Vitamin C Complex Cleanser
What is Naturium Vitamin C Complex Cleanser

This is a gel cleanser designed to refresh and brighten the skin:

  • Works to removes makeup, oil and impurities
  • Uses two types of vitamin C to even out the skin and target pigmentation
  • Contains phytic acid and fruit enzymes to gently exfoliate dead skin cells
  • Leaves skin feeling fresh and smooth

How to use it

This gel cleanser can be used on dry or damp skin. You just need a couple of pumps to massage into the skin. If you want a more intense treatment, you can leave it on for five minutes before rinsing.

Naturium say that his can be used daily, however, I think it’s key to ensure you are not over-exfoliating the skin. So make sure you are avoid too many other exfoliating products at the same time.

Be sure to wear SPF during the day.

My Review

First Impressions

First of all, I really like the simple packaging and the pump dispenser. It is sleek and minimal, like all Naturium products, and I always love how easy and mess-free a pump makes things.

Naturium Vitamin C Complex Cleanser texture

I really like the light gelee texture of this cleanser. It is really similar consistency to the Naturium Niacinamide Cleansing Gelee*. It has a luxurious feel and I like that you don’t really need to add water to get it to emulsify. It feels really gentle on my skin.

Once you add water, it becomes a light, creamy lather. It’s really enjoyable to use. It’s really refreshing and comfortable.

Naturium Vitamin C Complex Cleanser with more water added

It doesn’t have a scent per se. There’s no classic citrussy smell, however, it kind of smells fragrance-free if you know what I mean? I don’t love the smell. It’s my least favourite thing about this cleanser.

Key Ingredients & Claims

Naturium promises a non-stripping, gentle cleanse while delivering the brightening benefits of vitamin C.

While this is formulated to be gentle, I do think it’s important to note that alongside Vitamin C, there are acid exfoliants, as well as enzymatic exfoliating ingredients in the formula, so just check you aren’t double exfoliating with any of your other products. You should probably avoid going in with an acid toner after using this, for example.

Here’s a quick look at the ingredients:

  • Vitamin C Complex (Ascorbic Acid & Ethyl Ascorbic Acid) – to help brighten skin tone and combat dullness
  • Ferulic Acid & Tocopherol (Vitamin E) – to stabilise and boost the effectiveness of vitamin C
  • Bromelain & Papain (From Pineapple & Papaya Extracts) – natural enzymes that gently exfoliate and promote a smoother complexion
  • Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate & Decyl Glucoside – mild surfactants that cleanse without stripping moisture
  • Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice & Sodium Hyaluronate – to hydrate and soothe
  • Phytic Acid & Citric Acid – for gentle exfoliation and help improve skin clarity.
  • Sunflower Seed Oil & Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride – helps to maintain the skin’s lipid barrier

Application & Experience

I have been using two pumps massaged it onto damp skin. The gel lathers up into a light, silky foam – nothing too frothy, but just enough to feel like you’re getting a thorough cleanse. It rinses away easily and leaves the skin feeling clean but not tight. It does make me feel as though I need to moisturise, and it isn’t the most hydrating cleanser I have used, but it doesn’t feel stripping.

A similar cleanser that’s perhaps more gentle and hydrating, but still has mild exfoliating properties is one of my all time favourite gel cleansers from Elemis. It is more expensive but absolutely divine. If you want more information on that, read: Elemis Pro-Collagen Energising Cleanser Review.

I really like how brightening this formula is. While I wouldn’t say it replaces a vitamin C serum in your routine, it’s a great way to incorporate an extra boost of antioxidants into your cleansing step. I think it will be great for a morning cleanse, as I think it lends itself well to a quick skin refresh and cleanse, rather than makeup removal.

If you’re looking for a richer cleansing formula for more heavy duty makeup removal, I love Naturium’s cleansing balm. For more information on that. check out my Naturium Purple Ginseng Cleansing Balm Review.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I think the Naturium Vitamin C Complex Cleanser is a fantastic option if you’re looking for a cleanser that supports brighter, healthier-looking skin. It’s affordable and packed with great ingredients, and will delivers a refreshing, exfoliating cleanse, especially for those with combination and oily skins. This may not be the best option if you have dry skin, however, it suits my combination skin well.
