This cleansing tonic is one of the newer launches from Then I Met You, which is a skincare brand born in California but deeply inspired by Korean skincare rituals.

Founder Charlotte Cho’s parents were born in South Korea, and after she spent 5 years living there, she began her relationship with K-Beauty. Eventually Then I Met You was born and it has been a huge success.

One of the most spoken about products is the Living Cleansing Balm* which skincare junkies absolutely love. I am ashamed to say that I haven’t yet tried it, but I seriously need to rectify that!

Charlotte wanted to create the new Then I Met You Living Sea Cleansing Tonic after having spent over 10 years working with cleansing toners for Korean beauty site Soko Glam. This new product was to be the ultimate beauty water and I have to say, she has done a wonderful job.

Key Ingredients

  • 86% DEEP SEA WATER – rich in magnesium, potassium and sodium to rehydrate and plump
  • PAPAYA ENZYMES – gently exfoliate and help to dissolve dead skin cells to improve tone and texture and brighten
  • PERSIMMON EXTRACT – antioxidant to defend against free radicals and prevent premature aging and photo damage, work on hyperpigmentation and regulate sebum production
  • LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT – antioxidant skin brightener to even out tone
  • SEABERRY/SEA BUCKTHORN OIL – rich in fatty acids to lock in hydration and maintain the skin barrier.

How to use Then I Met You Living Sea Cleansing Tonic

There are a few ways you can use this.

  • Light morning cleanse
  • Second cleanse after a oil or balm cleanser
  • As non-acid toner pressed into the skin from your palms to add an extra layer of hydration

I have been using the Then I Met You Living Sea Cleansing Tonic for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it.

It is such a perfect morning cleanse to very quickly refresh my skin and make it super glowy and plump in a flash. I just pop it on to a reusable cotton pad, sweep over my skin and then let it dry for a few seconds.

It feels really soothing yet it wakes up my face, makes my skin feel so soft and gives a wonderful feeling of plumpness and hydration. Straight away my skin looks more radiant, and I can pop on a serum and moisturiser (or just a moisturiser if I want to keep things really simple) and I am ready to start the day.

I didn’t really expect to love it quite as much as I do, but it just seems to do so much for my skin in one super quick step! It is so smoothing, brightening and hydrating that I don’t even feel in much of a rush to do my next skincare steps.

The Then I Met You Living Sea Cleansing Tonic is also perfect to use after a balm or oil cleanse, to get rid of residue, give the skin a really lovely second cleanse, and also add in a layer of hydration. It really is so lovely to use!

I absolutely love a glossy lip balm and I have to say this formula really does tick the boxes. It is thick enough to really stay on the lips, but doesn’t feel heavy or sticky.

It is really easy to apply and gives lips such a beautiful, juicy shine. This new Crème Brûlée is so wearable and flattering. It’s perfect for a soft nude look, and if you want it to look more makeup-y, it pairs beautifully with any nude-toned lip liner.

The applicator is great which make reapplying on the go a cinch. Plus, the colour is sheer enough to be able to do top ups without a mirror.

The formula has a lovely smoothing effect and tackles any dryness of flakiness really quickly! Now I just need to try the other shades!

hey hey everyone, I hope all is well! Today I want to speak about a few of my fav facewashes that are suitable for all skintypes. I’ve used a lot of face washes but these are my top 4

Garnier Deep Hydrating Cleanser £9.99

I love Garnier and their cleansers are one of the best in the budget range. Whilst this one is slightly higher than the rest of the cleansers, the massive 250ml size will last you a long time, mine lasted at least 6 months! This one is great for all skintypes and good for the maintaining the skin barrier

Tatcha Rice Wash £18

Tatcha, Tatcha, Tatcha! I really fell in love with the brand earlier this year and I haven’t looked back! In particular this rice wash is 100% worth the hype. It’s hydrating, leaves the skin soft and smooth and clean without stripping it. This cleanser really changed my stance on using ‘expensive’ cleansers, £18 is pricey but its worth it. I love the creamy texture of the cleanser too. If £18 is too high, the travel size lasts really long too. Tatcha have great gift sets at great prices and good for testing the brand before fully investing in it

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facewash £8.50

I think this was the first item I tried from Elemis that put this brand on my radar! This is great for smoothing the skin leaving it more radiant. A great and gentle way to add chemical exfoliation to your routine.

Cerave Smoothing face wash £14.50

Cerave have a lot of fans in the community so it was only right I added a facewash from them. I think this is only the one I have used from them. I’m not sure of the BHA conc in here but I dont think its too high. Still it gets the job done and leaves the skin smoother and pores/texture reduced.
