I’ve been testing the Hydra Bond Hydrating Masque, and while the aesthetic is very on-brand, I was curious to see how it actually performs in terms of hydration, formulation and results.

The Fragrance

The fragrance is minimal but intentional. It is a milder version of the fragrance created by Azzi Glasser for the L.A – SPACE No 98 Ghost Candle; it’s fresh, clean and slightly musky, with a soft floral undertone. It’s not overly perfumed and doesn’t clash with other scented products. If you’re sensitive to strong fragrances, this will likely sit well with you. The scent lingers faintly after rinsing, but not in an overwhelming way.

Hydration & Performance: How Well Does It Work?

The 98 Beauty Hydra Bond Hydrating Masque literally just launched so I haven’t been using it that long, however, I did get a small lab sample pre-launch and have been able to try it.

After one use, hair did feel noticeably more hydrated and smoother, particularly on mid-lengths and ends. The hydration lasts around 2-3 days, on unwashed hair. It’s too soon to judge the long term benefits, but the masque adds softness and manageability without residue or heaviness.

Packaging: Minimal, Luxe-Inspired Design

Lorna Luxe wanted a minimal design that reflected her signature aesthetic. It is clean, pared-back and neutral. The jar is a matte white with minimal branding and is stylish but understated. It looks premium but not flashy.

Final Thoughts

The Hydra Bond Hydrating Masque is a thoughtfully formulated product that suits a wide range of hair types and routines. It delivers reliable hydration, softness, and a salon-fresh feel without relying on silicones or fillers. I have been impressed with how smooth-feeling it left my hair (which is naturally coarse) even after a few days of using it.

If you’re building a more minimal, ingredient-conscious haircare routine, this will be a strong addition, especially for dry, frizz-prone, or colour-treated hair.

So, when I tried the JVN Hair The Essential Dry Shampoo, I was very pleasantly surprised. It’s quite unlike any dry shampoo I’ve used before. Here’s my full review, including how it feels, looks, and yes, whether it’s worth the price tag.

What I love the most about the JVN Hair The Essential Dry Shampoo is how soft it makes my hair feel. If you brush the product through the hair, you can feel the softness all the way through the lengths which is quite unusual for dry shampoo. 

What Makes JVN Hair The Essential Dry Shampoo Different?

Most dry shampoos work by soaking up excess oil and sweat, often leaving your hair feeling a little rough, however, this one is totally the opposite.

Texture & Feel:
The first thing I noticed was how super light and soft this feels. No gritty texture, no chalkiness. It somehow manages to remove the feeling of dirty hair, while adding softness and moisture which I think will be a real game-changer for dry hair types.

Moisturising Yet Oil-Absorbing:
I know it sounds counterintuitive, but this product doesn’t just soak up oil. It actually leaves my hair feeling moisturised, not stripped or dry. That’s so rare for a dry shampoo, and especially lovely if you’ve got a dry scalp like I do.

White Cast?

This is always the big question with dry shampoo, especially if you have darker hair. The good news is that JVN Hair The Essential Dry Shampoo leaves minimal to no white cast.

If you spray it too close to the roots, you might see a little bit of white initially, but don’t panic. Just give your roots a soft massage, and it melts right in. So much easier than the heavy powdery finish some dry shampoos can leave behind.

Volume & Shape:

For me, this is the big win because I don’t really get very greasy hair but it does get a bit flat and limp in between washes. I find this product gives lovely shape and volume.

Even though it feels soft and light, it adds body without weighing anything down. My hair looked fuller, fresher, and way more styled after just a few spritzes as you will see in the video and photos I shared above.

The Scent

I really like the fragrance in this dry shampoo. It is musky and softly citrussy with lovely Mediterranean vibes. It isn’t overpowering and doesn’t linger in a cloying way. It just leaves your hair smelling clean and refreshed.

Sizes & Price

I love that this comes in two sizes. The full size is £26 for 148g and the mini is £13 for 61g. The smaller can is perfect for keeping in your handbag or popping into your hand luggage when travelling. I think this is a really nice touch from the JVN Hair team, and at £13, it’s a great way to try before committing to the full size.

Scalp-Friendly

As someone with a sensitive, dry scalp, I’m always cautious with dry shampoos. Some can really irritate. I’m pleased to report that this one doesn’t cause any irritation, itchiness or residue buildup.

Final Thoughts: Is JVN Hair The Essential Dry Shampoo Worth It?

This dry shampoo perfectly fits my personal needs when it comes to a dry shampoo. It has a lovely lightweight and soft texture, it actually moisturises my hair whilst giving it oomph and life, and it doesn’t irritate my scalp.

This is a luxury-feeling dry shampoo that performs beautifully, and if you’ve struggled with traditional dry shampoos, this one is well worth trying.

One note if you have very greasy hair:
If you tend to get very oily roots, the soft, hydrated feeling might actually be a little too much. This isn’t one of those ultra-mattifying formulas. In my opinion, tt’s more about refreshing your hair and lightly absorbing oil without drying it out, so if you love that squeaky-dry texture, this may not give you quite that finish.

First Impressions

The Dyson Supersonic is definitely a different looking hair dryer! It makes quite a striking first impression with its curved “r” shape which is a real departure from the upright design of the original Supersonic. It’s noticeably more compact and lighter, making it easier to hold for longer sessions. Dyson claims it’s 30% smaller and 20% lighter, and in hand, it feels balanced and effortless.

I personally think it looks super cute and I love the colours I have. The Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold combination is so gorgeous and it it looks modern, minimal, and unmistakably Dyson.

Dyson has once again pushed boundaries in the world of heat styling. Here are the key features that set the Supersonic r apart:

My Experience

As always with Dyson, the attention to detail is unmatched. Each attachment has a clear purpose, and switching between them is seamless. I love how the magnetic attachments work, and they couldn’t be easier to change.

This dryer is so easy to use, mainly because it is incredibly small and light, yet delivers the kind of power you just wouldn’t expect from something so small. I have thick coarse hair, and this make a super quick job of getting it dry. It’s so comfortable to hold and easy to manoeuvre.

It takes me roughly 8–10 minutes on my thick, long hair and this is just with the Powerful Air attachment which still manages to deliver a pretty smooth and frizz free finish, no matter how ‘rough’ I am.

The smoothing nozzle is great to quickly finish off and delivers a sleek and smooth result, and the Professional Concentrator is great for an extra smooth look and works so brilliantly with a blow dry brush.

Final Thoughts

I think that the Dyson Supersonic r is seriously impressive, however, it’s worth considering a few practical points before purchasing. At £449.99, it’s a significant investment, so you will need to make sure it’s the right product for you.

I think that the plug size could be an issue. The power plug is large, due to its internal components, so you would need to make sure that this works with where your power sockets are placed. Luckily, it works well for me at home where I dry my hair.

Also, whilst it’s travel friendly in terms of weight and super compact size and design, it lacks dual voltage support, which limits use abroad.

Pros and Cons

What is the Space NK Everything Shower Edit Worth?

For the £70 price tag for this edit, you actually receive £165 worth of products, so this is a very impressive value saving.

What is an everything shower?

An everything shower is essentially all about creating an at-home spa experience. It’s the shower where you scrub, shave, buff, and soak yourself into a pretty much a whole new person! It involves a deep scalp and hair cleanse, body exfoliation, relaxing skincare and more.

My Review

The Space NK Everything Shower Edit is designed to take your shower routine to the next level. The limited edition bag (another to add to my collection!) includes a curated selection of beauty products for a full-body refresh. This set brings together some of the most talked-about brands in hair and body care, making it a well-rounded addition to any self-care routine.

There are so many of my favourite products in this edit. I love the Naturium The Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash. Even more exciting is the inclusion of the JoonByrd Moon Swim. It is probably my best new body care discovery in quite some time and it’s literally like a hug in a bottle. I love a body oil and the Mirror Water Smooth Body Oil is a lovely one. It has a really beautiful texture that feels nourishing and rich, yet it sinks into the skin very well, leaving it moisturised, smooth and glowing without a heavy feel. Read Mirror Water Smooth Body Oil Review for more info.

Space NK’s own brand body care is really impressive. I am yet to try the Caribbean Shores Body Scrub but now is my time!! A good scrub is an essential part of this process, so this product had to be included in the Space NK Everything Shower Edit.

I am a big fan of the Sol De Janeiro Delicia Drench Body Butter so this is another brilliant addition to the set. The Living Proof Full Shampoo and Conditioner are excellent products and are super hydrating. They are ideal if you want to boost volume and add bounce to your hair with lots of moisture that doesn’t weigh the hair down.

Alpha-H Daily Dose Multivitamin Serum is one that I haven’t yet tried. It is a body serum with vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, and it works to smooth, hydrate and brighten the skin. Look like it will be perfect to get your body ready for summer.

The Malin+Goetz Detox Face Mask is another one I haven’t used but I am excited to try. It is a deep cleansing mask designed to be used once or twice a week.

Finally, the Aromatherapy Associates Rose Bath & Shower Oil is another favourite of mine. It smell absolutely amazing and feels so nourishing and soothing on the skin. It’s like a cleansing oil for the body and transforms into a cleansing milk to remove dirt and impurities from the skin.

Final Thoughts:

How To Use It

This dry shampoo is pretty easy to use. All you have to do is shake it up really well, and then spritz it into the roots from about 10 to 15cm away. Next, massage it in and brush through. Done!

I use about three pumps per section because I have thick hair. If you have fine hair, I think one pump would be ample.

I have been giving the K18 AirWash Dry Shampoo formula a go for about a month, and I have to say, it is pretty impressive. The fact that it’s a liquid formulation of a dry shampoo is very interesting. It does initially make the hair feel slightly damp, but it is never wet enough to mess up the style, and it dries down super fast, almost as if it was never there.

I really like it because it makes my hair feel much cleaner, without adding any texture, and its effects are pretty long lasting. It is really effective at absorbing oil and it doesn’t leave a white cast in the hair, even though if you spray it on skin, it does dry to a white powder.

It’s easy to run my fingers through my hair after it’s applied, especially if I don’t use too much, and it feels like there’s nothing in my hair at all. If it does have a texture, it’s because I’ve used too much. As I said in the How to Use section above, I use about three sprays per section as I have thick hair. One spray per section will suffice if you have fine hair.

K18 AirWash Dry Shampoo provides subtle volume but is definitely more of a cleansing product than a styling one. So if you’re looking for something to add shape and movement, you probably want a dry shampoo that’s more of a texture spray, like the Oribe Dry Shampoo*.

Having been using this for about a month, I think that this bottle will probably last longer than an aerosol dry shampoo, which is good to know, because at £48 a bottle, it’s really expensive!

Packaging and Application

The matte white bottle with minimalist black branding feels modern and kind of clinically luxurious. It has a pump spray and I find that the nozzle can get a little build up, so it best to try and keep that clear to ensure the finest of mists.
