My Review of Ultra Violette Future Fluid

As a beauty enthusiast always on the hunt for effective sun protection that doesn’t compromise on texture or finish, I was eager to put this product to the test.

Packaging and First Impressions

The Future Fluid comes in a cute bottle that looks and feels super modern. Its compact design means you can easily pop it in your handbag for top ups on the go. The nozzle is nice and neat and there’s no mess when dispensing the product.

Texture and Application

True to its name, the Future Fluid boasts a superlight texture that glides effortlessly onto the skin. Unlike many mineral sunscreens that can feel heavy or leave a white cast, this formulation absorbs quickly, leaving a natural, skin-like finish. It’s an excellent base for makeup, providing a smooth canvas without pilling or greasiness.

Performance and Wear

With an impressive SPF 50+ rating, the Future Fluid offers robust protection against harmful UV rays. I have been testing it for a few days now, and it wears really nicely under my makeup. There’s no noticeable scent, making it suitable for those sensitive to fragrances. Throughout the day, my skin felt hydrated and calm, and it didn’t get super shiny which is a testament to its balanced formulation.

Skin Compatibility

I have combination skin and I think Future Fluid suits it very well. I don’t like anything too matte, but too glowy a finish can make me look like a disco ball, and I think this formulation hits a really good balance.

When I first received this sample for testing, I asked my Instagram followers what they were keen to know, and the following were the most popular questions.

Does it sit well under makeup?

I have found this to be a brilliant base for makeup. It has a nice radiant finish, and keeps my skin nice and hydrated. It sits beautifully under makeup, acting like a smooth, lightweight primer without pilling.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Ultra Violette Future Fluid SPF 50+ Superlight Mineral Skinscreen is designed to be suitable for sensitive skin. Since it’s a 100% mineral sunscreen, it relies on zinc oxide to provide UV protection, which is generally gentler and less likely to cause irritation compared to chemical filters.

Additionally, it is fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and non-comedogenic, making it a great option for those with reactive, redness-prone, or acne-prone skin.

I don’t have particularly sensitive skin, but I found it pretty soothing on my skin.

Is it suitable for perimenonpausal skin?

I have perimenopausal skin and I’d say this is a is a great choice because it’s gentle and hydrating and is free from irritating additions like fragrance.

Does it sting the eyes?

I have been testing the Ultra Violette Future Fluid formula for a few days and I have had no issues with it stinging my eyes. I usually have pretty sensitive and watery eyes, so this is a good sign!

How is it different from other mineral sunscreens?

What sets this apart from traditional mineral sunscreens is the super light texture. Lots of mineral formulas can feel thick, chalky and heavy, however, Future Fluid has a very fluid-like texture making it more comfortable for daily wear. It blends easily and doesn’t leave the dry, powdery feeling some mineral SPFs have.

The other thing associated with mineral formulas is a white cast which I find is completely undetectable in the Ultra Violette Future Fluid formula. It is sheer and blendable making it more wearable for a wider range of skin tones.

Future Fluid takes all the best parts of mineral sunscreen (gentle, protective, non-irritating) and fixes the usual issues (heavy texture, white cast, dryness). If you’ve struggled with finding a mineral SPF that feels comfortable, this one is definitely worth trying.

What is the texture like?

The texture is light and silky and blends into the skin effortlessly. Watch my video below to see it in action.

Is the finish matte or glowy?

Future Fluid has a natural and skin-like, sitting somewhere between matte and glowy depending on how you prep your skin. I’d say it’s a soft satin finish. It isn’t greasy or overly dewy, making it great for combination and even oily skin types.

Is it suitable for oily skin?

I think this is a great option for combination and oily skin although if you are very oily, and you like a very matte finish, you may find it is too hydrating for you. You might want to use a little powder in the T-zone.

How is Future Fluid different to Lean Screen?

Ultra Violette Future Fluid SPF 50+ and Lean Screen SPF 50+ are both mineral sunscreens, but they have key differences in texture, finish, and skin type suitability.

In terms of texture and feel, Future Fluid is lighter, spreads more easily. Lean Screen has a thicker, creamier texture and will take a bit more blending.

Future Fluid has a natural, skin-like finish (not too glowy, not too matte) and it gives a fresh, hydrated look. Lean Screen gives the skin a matte finish. It is ideal for those who prefer a shine-free look or need oil control.

Will will Ultra Violette Future Fluid be available in the UK?

This new product is set to launch in the UK on 25th March 2025.

When will it be available in the US?

At the moment, I only have info on the UK launch. I will update this information as soon as I can.

Final Thoughts

I think that Ultra Violette’s Future Fluid SPF 50+ Superlight Mineral Skinscreen is a standout product in the crowded sunscreen market. I’m really impressed by its lightweight feel and how comfortable and hydrating it is. It is definitely one to check out if you want a mineral sunscreen but have not loved how heavy or difficult to blend they can be.

My Review

I have been using these two products together and I have to say, I’m very impressed!! They are absolutely dreamy and if you want to improve the appearance of your skin on your legs, they are a serious power couple!

Joonbyrd Daydreamer Body Serum

The Daydreamer Body Serum has quickly become a standout in my routine. What I appreciate most about this serum is its texture. Unlike many body serums that can feel heavy or sticky, this one is remarkably lightweight, absorbing into the skin almost immediately. The serum provides a noticeable boost of hydration, leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth without any greasy residue.

The formula is infused with nourishing ingredients that support moisture retention and promote a soft, supple skin texture. I’ve been using this product primarily after showering in the morning, and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in skin tone and texture. Areas that tend to feel drier, such as my elbows and knees, are now visibly softer and more hydrated.

One of the most impressive qualities of the Daydreamer Body Serum is its ability to hydrate without leaving a sticky or heavy feeling, which makes it perfect for warmer months or anyone who prefers lightweight body care options. It’s gentle enough for all skin types,.

Joonbyrd Sunday Sofa Body Butter

Moving on to the Sunday Sofa Body Butter – this product is all about providing rich, long-lasting moisture. The texture of this body butter is incredibly creamy and decadent. It’s a thicker formulation compared to the serum, but it absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving it deeply nourished without any excess residue.

Joonbyrd Sunday Sofa Body Butter

I’ve found this body butter to be a particularly wonderful option for my skin layered over the serum. The dense formula provides intense hydration, making it ideal for dry skin and it gives the skin a beautiful sheen. It creates a protective barrier that locks moisture in for hours, ensuring that my skin remains soft and smooth. If you’re someone who prefers a more substantial moisturiser, you will love this body butter.

The scent is comforting and warm, with hints of vanilla and soft florals. It’s soothing without being cloying, which is exactly what I look for in a body butter. It’s the type of fragrance that lingers just enough to make you feel cocooned in softness and comfort.

Using Them Together

What I find truly remarkable is how these two products complement each other. The Daydreamer Body Serum provides an initial burst of hydration, while the Sunday Sofa Body Butter locks in moisture and adds a layer of rich, long-lasting hydration. Together, they create a dynamic body care duo that leaves skin feeling deeply nourished, soft, and replenished.

This combination is particularly beneficial for those with dry skin or anyone looking for a more luxurious self-care routine. The result is smooth, supple skin with a subtle, lingering fragrance that isn’t overpowering – just perfectly balanced.

Final Thoughts

If you’re in the market for body care products that are both effective and luxurious, Joonbyrd’s Daydreamer Body Serum and Sunday Sofa Body Butter are certainly worth considering. The serum is a great option for anyone seeking lightweight hydration, while the body butter provides rich, indulgent moisture. Together, they create a well-rounded, high-quality body care routine that delivers on its promises.

For those who appreciate refined, effective skincare, these products are a standout choice. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the results and will certainly be keeping them in my regular rotation. My legs WILL be ready for summer!

NYX Face Glue Setting Spray Review

If you’re someone who needs their makeup to stay in place all day long, you know that finding a good setting spray can be really helpful. I’ve been giving the NYX Face Glue Setting Spray a whirl. Here’s what you need to know.

What is NYX Face Glue Setting Spray?

NYX Face Glue Setting Spray
NYX Face Glue Setting Spray

  • Seals makeup for up to 24-hours
  • Forms a protective film over makeup
  • Delivers a natural-looking, second-skin finish

My Review

My Review of NYX Face Glue Setting Spray
My Review of NYX Face Glue Setting Spray

First Impressions: Lightweight Yet Effective

One of the first things I noticed about this setting spray is how light it feels. Unlike some other setting sprays that can leave your face feeling a bit damp or heavy, the NYX Face Glue feels refreshingly light. It doesn’t weigh down your makeup, and it doesn’t leave behind any sticky or tacky residue either, which is honestly one of my pet peeves with some long-wear products.

I really appreciate how the spray doesn’t really alter the look or finish of my makeup. It does have mattifying ingredients in the formula, but it still leaves my skin looking naturally radiant. It manages to help keep everything in place without messing with the texture I’ve created.

Does it work?

I am not really a pro when it comes to setting sprays, and I can take them or leave them, because I tend to wear quite natural looking makeup with long lasting formulas anyway, but I have been really enjoying testing this one out.

I’ve been quite impressed by the difference it makes to my makeup where my glasses sit. What I hate about wearing glasses is that every time you take them off or adjust them, you risk having your makeup disrupted. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the NYX Face Glue Setiing Spray held everything in place. I noticed that when I wore this spray, my makeup didn’t budge as much under the pressure of my glasses.

The Comparison: NYX vs. Charlotte Tilbury

I wanted to make this comparison because I really do love the CT Setting Spray (review here). CT’s setting spray is definitely more luxurious—there’s no denying that. It has a finer mist and that luxurious feel that you’d expect from a high-end brand. The mist is super soft, almost like a cloud, and while it’s a lovely experience to use, it does have a floral fragrance which for some people might be a dealbreaker. I personally really like the scent, but it’s not for everyone.

The Charlotte Tilbury spray also gives a bit more of a glowy finish, making it perfect for that fresh, radiant look.

The NYX Face Glue Setting Spray doesn’t have the same refined mist or the luxe feel of the Charlotte Tilbury version, but it still performs incredibly well. There’s no fragrance here, which will be good for anyone sensitive to added fragrance. The spray feels effective when it comes to holding makeup in place, and while the mist isn’t as fine as the CT one, it’s still pretty even.

The NYX one contains alcohol but it is offset with a humectant (propylene glycol) which means I don’t find it drying. If you have dry skin however, the alcohol in the formula might not be the best for you.

The Charlotte Tilbury has more hydrating ingredients within the formula, however, the NYX does actually have a bit of skincare in there which it doesn’t really boast about. There’s Acer Saccharum Extract (Sugar Maple Extract) which is a good antioxidant that helps with skin hydration. So that’s a big plus especially at the NYX price point.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for something affordable, effective, and lightweight, this is definitely worth a try. It keeps my makeup pretty intact without altering the finish or feeling heavy, and I love that it helps prevent my glasses from moving my makeup. Definitely one to keep in your beauty arsenal if you’re on the hunt for a hardworking, long-wearing setting spray that won’t break the bank!

My Review

ILIA Eye Stylus Shadow Stick - Flax & Jubilee
Flax & Jubilee

As someone who appreciates both simplicity and quality in my beauty routine, I’ve been particularly excited to try the ILIA Eye Stylus Shadow Stick. I think ILIA has really nailed the balance between high-performance products and skin-friendly ingredients so I had high expectations for these shadows.

Packaging

The design is minimal and modern, with a twist-up mechanism that makes it really easy to use. They are nice and sleek so fit into my makeup bag and they have a nice sturdy cap making it safe to just chuck in your bag.

Texture & Application

One of the standout features of the ILIA Eye Stylus is its incredibly smooth texture. The formula is creamy without being greasy, allowing the shadow to glide onto the eyelids effortlessly. It’s neither too dry nor too slippery, providing ample time to blend before it sets into place. The application is seamless, and the texture feels weightless on the skin, so really comfortable for all day wear.

Blendability & Finish

The ILIA Eye Stylus Shadow Stick is really easy to blend. I have first been applying a very fine layer of my REESON Lid Elixir as I use that every day to smooth my lids, and I let that set, then go in with the ILIA. Read REESON Beauty Lid Elixir Eye Serum-Tint Review & Swatches for more info.

Whether you’re applying a light wash of colour or building it up for a more intense look, the formula blends beautifully with a soft brush. I have been using my REESON No. 2 brush and they work really well together.

The shadows have a smooth, velvety texture that helps the product glide on effortlessly. The mattes have a lovely velvety radiance and the shimmers have a very pretty sheen without being overly glittery or too shiny.

Shades & Pigmentation

I have been using Flax which is a lovely taupe all over my lid and then Jubilee (soft gold) as like a spotlight down the centre of my lid, and it’s such a lovely look. It looks done without being too much, which is just perfect for every day.

The pigmentation is impressive – one swipe delivers rich, even colour, and it’s easy to build the intensity to your liking.

Longevity

The ILIA Eye Stylus Shadow Stick performs exceptionally well when it comes to longevity. I’ve worn it through long workdays and even workouts and it stays in place without fading or creasing. I have slightly oily eyelids, so that’s always a concern for me, but I’m pleased to report that the formula holds up remarkably well. Once it sets, it stays put.
