Comments Off on HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner Review
hey hey! I hope all is well. I’ve been getting on with my HaruHaru wonder skin challenge and I have my first review up today! Today I will be talking about the very popular black rice toner.
The toner comes in 2 versions: a alcohol & fragrance free version & the standard version. I’ve been using the free from version. This toner promises to hydrate and prep the skin for absorption and other ingredients to help maintain healthy skin.
Experience
I was using this toner in both AM & PM routines after cleansing and it lasted a little over 3 weeks last month. As I have been using the free from version, there is no noticeable scent and I have experienced no irritation from it. This would actually be my 2nd bottle of this toner! I first discovered it last year when I rediscovered K-beauty and Stylevana. I also used the free from version last year.
I get why the toner is very popular. It really is a fuss free gentle toner that works well with all actives. its hydrating & sinks into the skin with ease. One of the reasons why I switched to k beauty toners last year was because their toners are always packed with lots of beneficial ingredients and the black rice toner isn’t any different! In addition to their star ingredient, black rice( helps to brighten & soothe skin), it also has other ingredients like ginseng root extract for brightening properties, beta-glucan for soothing & hydration and sodium gluconate which helps the skin retain water
Verdict
A simple yet effective fuss free toner that lends itself beautifully to any skincare routine. Whilst I don’t have sensitive skin, I’ve really enjoyed this toner and I actually have a backup in my stash and will repurchase again! I’m sure the scented version is just as great. I have normal to combo oily skin and the sensitive skin version worked really well with it. Highly recommended!
HaruHaru Black Rice toner is available at Boots, Stylevana and Amazon
This is a gifted product.
I will be sharing my thoughts on the rest of the Haru Haru products as I finish them up but my overall brand review will be up next week with my top 3 fav products from the range! Stay tuned

There’s a new range of shimmer shades in the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Stix High-Shimmer Gloss Stick collection and I have been testing them out. I have a review and swatches here for you.
If there’s one thing Fenty Beauty does so well, it’s creating universally flattering lip products that just work. Although I didn’t think I’d love the shimmer in this formula, I have actually really been enjoying it and I think it’s super flattering.
First things first, the Gloss Bomb Stix delivers exactly what the name suggests – a glossy, balmy lip colour in an easy-to-use stick format. The shades are nice and sheer and they add add just the right amount of colour to enhance your natural lip tone without being over the top.
Now, I know shimmer in lip products can be a bit divisive but I really think that Fenty has nailed it in this formula. The shimmer in these gloss sticks isn’t chunky or glittery; it’s a fine, refined sparkle that catches the light just enough to give the illusion of fuller, more voluminous lips. If you want a very shimmery effect, you can build this up, but a light swipe creates a very pretty look.
One of my biggest concerns with shimmery lip products is that they can sometimes feel gritty or drying – but these are the opposite. The formula is comfortable and smooth and it glides on effortlessly. It’s got a lovely balmy texture that hydrates without being sticky, heavy or gritty. There’s a subtle spicy feeling but nothing over the top.
I love a warm, bronzy nude, so it’s no surprise that my top pick is Shimmering Fenty Glow. It’s got that perfect mix of warm undertones and soft shimmer that makes lips look naturally plump and juicy. It’s the kind of shade that works for any occasion.
Final Thoughts
If you love a glossy lip but want something easy and low maintenance, the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Stix shades are a must-try. The sheer shades are so pretty, the shimmer is ultra-flattering, and the formula is smooth, comfortable, and never gritty. Plus, the stick format makes them so handy to throw in your bag and apply on the go.
If you are looking for something glossy but without shimmer, I have been loving the new launch from Too Faced. Read Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Plumping Clicks Lip Gloss Review & Swatches for more info.

Ultra Violette is one of my absolute favourite brands, so I was very excited when I was offered a sneak peek of their latest launch, the Ultra Violette Future Fluid SPF 50+ Superlight Mineral Skinscreen. I have been testing it out. Here’s what you need to know.
What is Ultra Violette Future Fluid?
What is Ultra Violette Future Fluid?

Hydrating yet non-greasy texture
Uses an innovative Zinc to protect without the heavy feeling of traditional zinc sunscreens
Enriched with skincare ingredients to hydrate, soothe and support the skin barrier

Key Ingredients
Japanese Zinc – advanced mineral UVA & UVB filter that is gentle, non-greasy and lightweight on the skin
Ultra Violette Future Fluid mineral sunscreen packaging
As a beauty enthusiast always on the hunt for effective sun protection that doesn’t compromise on texture or finish, I was eager to put this product to the test.
Packaging and First Impressions
The Future Fluid comes in a cute bottle that looks and feels super modern. Its compact design means you can easily pop it in your handbag for top ups on the go. The nozzle is nice and neat and there’s no mess when dispensing the product.
Texture and Application
Ultra Violette Future Fluid swatch
True to its name, the Future Fluid boasts a superlight texture that glides effortlessly onto the skin. Unlike many mineral sunscreens that can feel heavy or leave a white cast, this formulation absorbs quickly, leaving a natural, skin-like finish. It’s an excellent base for makeup, providing a smooth canvas without pilling or greasiness.

Performance and Wear
With an impressive SPF 50+ rating, the Future Fluid offers robust protection against harmful UV rays. I have been testing it for a few days now, and it wears really nicely under my makeup. There’s no noticeable scent, making it suitable for those sensitive to fragrances. Throughout the day, my skin felt hydrated and calm, and it didn’t get super shiny which is a testament to its balanced formulation.
Skin Compatibility
I have combination skin and I think Future Fluid suits it very well. I don’t like anything too matte, but too glowy a finish can make me look like a disco ball, and I think this formulation hits a really good balance.
When I first received this sample for testing, I asked my Instagram followers what they were keen to know, and the following were the most popular questions.
Does it sit well under makeup?
I have found this to be a brilliant base for makeup. It has a nice radiant finish, and keeps my skin nice and hydrated. It sits beautifully under makeup, acting like a smooth, lightweight primer without pilling.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Ultra Violette Future Fluid SPF 50+ Superlight Mineral Skinscreen is designed to be suitable for sensitive skin. Since it’s a 100% mineral sunscreen, it relies on zinc oxide to provide UV protection, which is generally gentler and less likely to cause irritation compared to chemical filters.
Additionally, it is fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and non-comedogenic, making it a great option for those with reactive, redness-prone, or acne-prone skin.
I don’t have particularly sensitive skin, but I found it pretty soothing on my skin.
Is it suitable for perimenonpausal skin?
I have perimenopausal skin and I’d say this is a is a great choice because it’s gentle and hydrating and is free from irritating additions like fragrance.
Does it sting the eyes?
I have been testing the Ultra Violette Future Fluid formula for a few days and I have had no issues with it stinging my eyes. I usually have pretty sensitive and watery eyes, so this is a good sign!
How is it different from other mineral sunscreens?
What sets this apart from traditional mineral sunscreens is the super light texture. Lots of mineral formulas can feel thick, chalky and heavy, however, Future Fluid has a very fluid-like texture making it more comfortable for daily wear. It blends easily and doesn’t leave the dry, powdery feeling some mineral SPFs have.
The other thing associated with mineral formulas is a white cast which I find is completely undetectable in the Ultra Violette Future Fluid formula. It is sheer and blendable making it more wearable for a wider range of skin tones.
Future Fluid takes all the best parts of mineral sunscreen (gentle, protective, non-irritating) and fixes the usual issues (heavy texture, white cast, dryness). If you’ve struggled with finding a mineral SPF that feels comfortable, this one is definitely worth trying.
What is the texture like?
The texture is light and silky and blends into the skin effortlessly. Watch my video below to see it in action.
Is the finish matte or glowy?
Future Fluid has a natural and skin-like, sitting somewhere between matte and glowy depending on how you prep your skin. I’d say it’s a soft satin finish. It isn’t greasy or overly dewy, making it great for combination and even oily skin types.
Is it suitable for oily skin?
I think this is a great option for combination and oily skin although if you are very oily, and you like a very matte finish, you may find it is too hydrating for you. You might want to use a little powder in the T-zone.
How is Future Fluid different to Lean Screen?
Ultra Violette Future Fluid SPF 50+ and Lean Screen SPF 50+ are both mineral sunscreens, but they have key differences in texture, finish, and skin type suitability.
In terms of texture and feel, Future Fluid is lighter, spreads more easily. Lean Screen has a thicker, creamier texture and will take a bit more blending.
Future Fluid has a natural, skin-like finish (not too glowy, not too matte) and it gives a fresh, hydrated look. Lean Screen gives the skin a matte finish. It is ideal for those who prefer a shine-free look or need oil control.
Will will Ultra Violette Future Fluid be available in the UK?
This new product is set to launch in the UK on 25th March 2025.
When will it be available in the US?
At the moment, I only have info on the UK launch. I will update this information as soon as I can.

Final Thoughts
I think that Ultra Violette’s Future Fluid SPF 50+ Superlight Mineral Skinscreen is a standout product in the crowded sunscreen market. I’m really impressed by its lightweight feel and how comfortable and hydrating it is. It is definitely one to check out if you want a mineral sunscreen but have not loved how heavy or difficult to blend they can be.

I have been using these two products together and I have to say, I’m very impressed!! They are absolutely dreamy and if you want to improve the appearance of your skin on your legs, they are a serious power couple!
Joonbyrd Daydreamer Body Serum
The Daydreamer Body Serum has quickly become a standout in my routine. What I appreciate most about this serum is its texture. Unlike many body serums that can feel heavy or sticky, this one is remarkably lightweight, absorbing into the skin almost immediately. The serum provides a noticeable boost of hydration, leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth without any greasy residue.
The formula is infused with nourishing ingredients that support moisture retention and promote a soft, supple skin texture. I’ve been using this product primarily after showering in the morning, and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in skin tone and texture. Areas that tend to feel drier, such as my elbows and knees, are now visibly softer and more hydrated.
Joonbyrd Daydreamer Body Serum texture
One of the most impressive qualities of the Daydreamer Body Serum is its ability to hydrate without leaving a sticky or heavy feeling, which makes it perfect for warmer months or anyone who prefers lightweight body care options. It’s gentle enough for all skin types,.
Joonbyrd Sunday Sofa Body Butter
Moving on to the Sunday Sofa Body Butter – this product is all about providing rich, long-lasting moisture. The texture of this body butter is incredibly creamy and decadent. It’s a thicker formulation compared to the serum, but it absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving it deeply nourished without any excess residue.
Joonbyrd Sunday Sofa Body Butter
I’ve found this body butter to be a particularly wonderful option for my skin layered over the serum. The dense formula provides intense hydration, making it ideal for dry skin and it gives the skin a beautiful sheen. It creates a protective barrier that locks moisture in for hours, ensuring that my skin remains soft and smooth. If you’re someone who prefers a more substantial moisturiser, you will love this body butter.
Joonbyrd Sunday Sofa Body Butter texture
The scent is comforting and warm, with hints of vanilla and soft florals. It’s soothing without being cloying, which is exactly what I look for in a body butter. It’s the type of fragrance that lingers just enough to make you feel cocooned in softness and comfort.
Using Them Together
What I find truly remarkable is how these two products complement each other. The Daydreamer Body Serum provides an initial burst of hydration, while the Sunday Sofa Body Butter locks in moisture and adds a layer of rich, long-lasting hydration. Together, they create a dynamic body care duo that leaves skin feeling deeply nourished, soft, and replenished.
This combination is particularly beneficial for those with dry skin or anyone looking for a more luxurious self-care routine. The result is smooth, supple skin with a subtle, lingering fragrance that isn’t overpowering – just perfectly balanced.
Final Thoughts
If you’re in the market for body care products that are both effective and luxurious, Joonbyrd’s Daydreamer Body Serum and Sunday Sofa Body Butter are certainly worth considering. The serum is a great option for anyone seeking lightweight hydration, while the body butter provides rich, indulgent moisture. Together, they create a well-rounded, high-quality body care routine that delivers on its promises.
For those who appreciate refined, effective skincare, these products are a standout choice. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the results and will certainly be keeping them in my regular rotation. My legs WILL be ready for summer!
